2 weeks after the Finals:
they just need to split to start this series out...

This is what the whole team has wanted- a healthy team and a chance for revenge after last year. Everyone is healthy.

I cant even speculate on the defensive matchups. I wonder if they will go cross-matchups or play it straight up.......

I could see straight up and Kyrie starting on Curry, JR on Klay,--- BUT--- and i dont know what they plan on doing- but i think LeBron guarding Iggy and or Barnes is kind of a waste......I wonder if LeBron will guard Curry at times...he couldnt last year beafcuse of the offensive load he had to carry- but at times iwouldnt be surprised to see it this year...

honestly- if i was the Cavs id have LeBron guard Curry and tell him to guard him as tight as possible and if Curry wants to score 40 with floaters in the lane- go for it...im sure Delly will play him to switch it up here and there as well.....Curry seems healthy though.

Fun that its finally time...BACK to the NBA Finals.....lets see what King James can do.

Oh don't worry. Wiggy and Shane are BOTH shaking in their boots...:heh:

This is what we all expected. The rematch. I am just glad both teams are fully healthy and we got the two best teams playing each other. I would say the Thunder are better but they cant finish games, they didn't deserve to win that series.

I think we'll mostly see Kyrie on Curry and JR on Klay. People forget how well KI played Curry in Game 1 last year (and in the Christmas game this season).

LeBron should be on Draymond because that is the Warriors's best P&R option and Bron can switch and play the guards just fine. It also frees up LeBron for help defense and rebounding since Draymond's jumpshot right now isn't exactly scary. I'm not worried about Draymond having a mismatch on a guard. If the Warriors want to focus on posting Draymond... the Cavs will take that all day long.

I would put Love on Iggy/Barnes. Those guys you can afford to sag off and then just close out on them if they get the ball. Those guys are also dangerous on the offensive glass so having Love to box them out. Love needs to be a rebounding machine like he was in the Christmas game when he had 18.

I have Golden State in 6 games, BUT if the Cavs are to win this series, they HAVE to do it in 6 games, because there is not a chance on earth that they will win a Game 7 in Golden State.

Cavs in 3. No reason to play a Game 4

Who does LeBron guard? Klay not a good matchup for him.

Also, if LeBron guards Curry, who does Irving guard?

Lebron isn't guarding Curry or Klay most of the time. I'm sure if he has to in crunchtime he could guard either or on the switch.

Kyrie has actually done a pretty decent job of guarding Klay times when i have seen them cross matchup.....

the key to Klay- and Curry for that matter- and its MUCH EASIER said than done- is just run them off the 3 pt line....

its a little different from Curry since he obviously hits 3's like layups OFF THE DRIBBLE somehow---- but Klay is more of a spot up- off screen guy---- id make Klay Thompson put it on the floor the ENTIRE series.

Playoff Win Shares per 48. Regular Season Win Shares per 48 in quotes.

Curry 2015: .228 (.288)
Curry 2016: .204 (.318)

Klay 2015: .118 (.172)
Klay 2016: .170 (.144)

Draymond 2015: .161 (.163)
Draymond 2016: .157 (.190)

Lebron 2015: .173 (.199)
Lebron 2016: .288 (.242)

Love 2015: .208 (.165)
Love 2016: .202 (.169)

Irving 2016: .228 (.143)

Lebron and Kyrie have been playing out of their mind in the east while Curry and Green have really been struggling. I think even if you factor in the massive difference in the level of competition, it looks like the Cavs have a good chance of winning if Green and Curry dont revert back to regular season form. If regular season Curry shows up then this series is over before it starts.

This might actually be a good old fashioned series where the team with the best player wins. Lebron has to outplay Curry and Curry has to outplay Lebron. Considering the matchups both teams can throw at each player, thats really tough sledding for Lebron. Warriors have to like this matchup more than the Thunder but you have to wonder if just getting passed the Thunder drained the team a bit.

On switches for sure. You can't safely avoid switching bigs on to Curry at times. In the case of LeBron - due to his size and athleticism - it is actually an advantage to switch LeBron on to him. Durant was really successful in those situations. The trouble is when he passes back to LeBron's man in those situations.

Other than on switches, we might see it for brief stretches at the end of games.

i definitely agree with this.

Someone is gonna have the crown of best player alive after the Finals- and it will be whoever is hefting the Trophy- and likely- the Finals MVP trophy-- whether its Steph getting his 1st or LBJ getting his 3rd.

Lebron and Jr/Shump i assume.

I feel bad for Kevin Love. Warriors will put him in that pick and roll a lot. Cavs are better off putting Tristan on Draymond as he is a much better defender. Love should guard Bogut but when they go to their small ball lineup then Love is in trouble

This right here is why I never factored Kevin Love playing in this series. I predict Love will be a huge defensive liability in this series.

Oh, and remember when the Thunder were up 3-1 and how Wiggy was bragging about the Dubs being overrated and that teams with the most talent wins?
