There was nothing wrong with the Decision.

From a PR standpoint, it hurt him pretty good. On a national level, he came across as an arrogant shit, and his marketability did take a good hit.

He could have left the Cavs and nobody outside of Ohio would have given a shit, but The Decision raised the ire of a lot of folks.

Some good certainly came out of it, as you pointed out, but to suggest that there was nothing wrong with it is either foolish, or disingenuous.

For the record, I don't have any problem with other people feeling the way they do about LeBron.

Just because I disagree and state my opinion doesn't mean I'm desperate to defend him or advocating that everyone like him.

Going around saying "LeBron got Blatt fired" is the same as someone going around saying "Kobe raped a girl". Just because a lot of people believe it, doesn't make it true.

No, saying Lebron fired a coach and Kobe raped a girl are the same. You can't really agree that there is a difference between saying Lebron fired a coach and Lebron got a coach fired and then say they are both the same as saying Kobe raped a girl.

Kobe was accused and the charges were ultimately dropped. Doesn't mean he didn't r*pe her, it means there wasn't enough evidence to support it.

There is, however, plenty of evidence that shows Lebron was, at the very least, indirectly responsible for Blatt being fired. Beginning with the fact that Lebron wasn't even willing to meet with him after he signed with the Cavs and including the way he treated him in front of his teammates and the public.

No, that would be Shane. You have the ability to look at Lebron, see the warts, admit they are there and still be a fan. You typically do it without trying to tear down other players (while claiming that others made the comparison when it was you) attempting to defend him as well. That's why you are so respected here.

I disagree.

Unless you are saying that any person in any organization important enough to hold veto power is indirectly responsible for everyone fired during their employment. In which case, there would be a lot of players indirectly responsible for a lot of coach firings.

As far as LeBron being "unwilling" to meet with Blatt after signing... that is just more made up bullshit. All we know is they didn't meet right away. And LOL at the idea of that being evidence of LeBron having Blatt fired 20 months later.

You still want to "defend" him. It's all good Kobe has retired we don't have to see him anymore. Honestly though this last season I really liked Kobe, I don't dislike him as much anymore.

This is at least the 3rd time you have made that bullshit statement Aabout me or someone else. I'd suggest you not make it another time. If you can't debate without making shit up, I'd suggest you stop debating.

Jesus this is why I started the other thread. This thread can be about Miami attendance and LeBron vs Kobe and the Put Up thread can be about the Finals.

Sticky it please

It's your right to disagree. But you can't deny Lebron publicly disrespecting Blatt in front of teammates and national tv audiences.

I do agree that we don't know for certain why Lebron took so long to meet with Blatt. But one would think that the guy who is being brought in to "save the franchise" would want to meet with the head coach asap to see what his plan was and try to make sure they were on the same page. Heck, I'd think Lebron would have wanted to meet with him before he agreed to come back.

I'd say that when you combine that with the way Lebron treated him, we can make a fairly educated guess. End of the day though, we don't know why Lebron didn't meet with him soon after agreeing to return.

Yeah, I'm on board with all of that.

The 20 month relationship between Blatt and LeBron never felt "right". LeBron did take some subtle jabs at him now and then. To Blatt's credit he never returned the favor, even after being fired.

HAS to. some o' these cats get all butt-hurt if you aren't willing to join them in their LeBron circle-jerk...:wank:

"how can you hate LeBron?! LeBron is the greatest!! how DARE you hate LeBron?!":sadbron:

last I recall you don't have to LIKE anybody. friggin' crybabies...

Heck, I don't know many Lakers fans who actually liked Kobe. There's a difference between liking a player and being glad he's on your team because of the winning that comes with it.

I know your feelings about Lebron. But, for me, if he chose to sign with the Lakers this off-season, I'd be glad he was on the team because of the likelihood of a playoff run. But I still wouldn't like him.

Do any Warriors fans feel like we haven't really seen the Warriors play like themselves in the playoffs? Or is that just me?

A lot of that is because of Curry's injuries in the early rounds... and some of that should be attributed to the Thunder's defense.

Wondering if its just me and maybe I'm undervaluing how they've played up to this point (in the playoffs).

I agree here big time. I could tell for the most part that during Blatt's entire career with the Cavs, he and Lebron were never on the same page. Lebron wanted Lue, and while you can't "prove" it, we all know who runs the show in Cleveland; he doesn't wear a suit, he wears #23.
