fine, but there is no chance Michael Jordan playing in his 40 minute is better than Shawn Marion playing in his 10th... We are still talking about top end players...

Point is, fresh legs tire tired legs out even more....

Well think of it this way. At the end of the game would you put a fresh Marion on MJ or would you put your starter in...lets say Artest.

what i don't understand with you guys, why do you all assume the starters play 40+ minutes?? I wouldn't want anyone playing over 35 minutes... every team is so good, do you really think these players are not going to exert themselves?? to have crappy or low end benches, ima gonna vote against you most likely.... But that just one vote...

Because Jerry West played 39.2 minutes per game for a career... For 7 years he played over 40 minutes a game... 4 years he played over 37 minutes... So for 11 years he played over 37, I'm asking him to play between 36-38 minutes... Jordan is a career 38.3 minutes per... 3 years he played over 40 minutes... At 39 he played 37 minutes per in 82 games starting 67... Because Ewing played over 36 minutes 9 years... And also my bench while inexpensive is not very weak...

Jerry West - 36
Michael Jordan - 36
Shane Battier - 30
Larry Nance - 28
Patrick Ewing - 30

Nate McMillan - 12
Hersey Hawkins - 7
Reggie Lewis - 18 SF 5 SG (23min)
Zach Randolph - 20 PF 3 C (23 min)
Arvydas Sabonis - 15 C

Those are very reasonable numbers considering... Not to mention 2 of my "big 3" should be in most of times I don't thinks it's that big of an issue...

So, does anyone else want me to add a book to their roster like WLK did? :L

I will just add mine (what I said in this thread), to the matchups once it is made lol

Hey how did my team get involved in this conversation? I don't want to be active and discuss how my team is better because my bench is the most expensive or that I have Artest who will beat up your fans.

Finding a resting balance is key in basketball... If I take him out with 2 minutes in the 3rd, 4 minutes to start the 4th that's 6 minutes plus all the tv timeouts the end of the quarter plus any coach called timeout... That's plenty of rest, plus I can pull him for a couple before the final push... So yes I'll take 40min Jordan over 10 minute Marion...

PG - Mark Price
SG - Earl the Pearl
SF - Paul Pierce
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Wilt Chamberlain

G - Mookie Blaylock
G - KC Jones
F - Peja Stojakavic
F - Lamar Odom
F - Marcus Camby

The rim will never be left unprotected with Duncan, Wilt, and Camby. And I have plenty of shooting to keep any of you from crashing in on Wilt or Duncan in the post - unless you want to just give a bunch of elite shooters the green light. On the bench I have perimeter defense, shooting, and rim protection.

Me vs. EHB

Norm Van Lier vs. Mark Price
Dennis Johnson vs. Earl Monroe
Larry Bird vs. Paul Pierce
Elvin Hayes vs. Tim Duncan
Bill Russell vs. Wilt Chamberlain

My offense:

My offense is designed as a ball movement offense. Norm Van Lier (7.0 A/G), Dennis Johnson (5.0) and Larry Bird (6.3) were all known for their ability to pass, and Russell (4.0) wasn't so bad for a center either. If there's an open man - he'll be found. Obviously, Bird is a capable 3pt shooter, but Van Lier had good range on his jump shot for his time and Hayes and Johnson both possessed mid range shots. Obviously, Bird (24.3 career; 29.9 high) and Hayes (21.0; 28.7) are the two biggest scoring threats, but my other three starters were all mid range scorers - Van Lier (11.8; 16.0), Johnson (14.1; 19.5), Russell (15.1; 18.9).

My Defense:

This is my strength. I have some of the greatest defenders in NBA history. This is going to allow me to play a team defense instead of relying solely on individual one on ones the entire game/series/whatever people want to look at this as. 23 All-NBA defensive teams, with every player winning at least one - and Russell only having the award exist for his final season. Shot may not always be blocked (Hayes & Bird 6'9", Russell 6'10"), but shots will be contested and it'll be difficult to get clean shots, and with 3 guys with 10+ RPG for their careers, offensive rebounds will have to be earned. Also, Chamberlain v. Russell isn't as one sided as many would think. Russell kept Chamberlain significantly under his career scoring average (144 games against) and held Chamberlain to as many bad games as good games - so you can't just assume that Wilt can drop 40 and the rest is history.

Benches:

Hubert Davis vs. Mookie Blaylock
Alvin Robertson vs. K.C. Jones
Bruce Bowen vs. Peja Stojakovic
Bobby Jones vs. Lamar Odom
Manute Bol vs. Marcus Camby

My Bench:

Designed to allow my starters to always have 4 on the court at a time (as long as the situation calls for it). Robertson, Bowen and Jones are all elite defenders that will continue to give fits to opponents. Davis is the 3rd highest 3pt shooter by % in NBA history - and that is all that will be asked of him (and with him, I can have 3 shooters on the court at one time and still have rebounding and defense as well). Manute Bol is the only player to block 10% of all 2pt shots while he's on the court for an entire season - and he did it 5 times, he's there to provide 4 blocks and 6 fouls against Wilt.

For my matchup with stoke I'll say first off he has a great team I really like a lot of his players but here goes...

DJ and Van Lier are great defenders for him but they're a bit wasted having to stay home on the perimeter against guys who aren't the central points of my offense. Bird obviously is better than pierce but pierce is a great all around player and will hold his own. The Hayes and Russell front court is great but it's no match for Duncan - Wilt.

If we have a winner in these play in games tonight can I suggest we not start the next round of games until tomorrow?

I agree

By the way, during the draft, I was fixated on UK's team because I knew I was playing him, and WLK's team because he had MJ.

After looking at all the rosters, there are some amazingly good teams. It kind of snuck up on me a bit. Very impressive drafting everybody!
