Having Smoak bat 4th in a MLB lineup is a joke.

I've never been one to care about lineup construction but McClendon's lineups are ridiculous.

Elias can stop the skid if:

1- He pitches a complete game shutout
2- Hits a homer for their only run
3- Is in charge of all video revues.

Actually been pretty impressed with Elias so far. He is one of the few surprising/bright spots on the team right now. Hopefully they can keep it going.

Pretty much only watching this for Elias. I'm not done with the M's this year yet, but I don't see me making it through the end of May the rate they are going. Most year I end up only watching games after my drop dead date if the King is pitching or I'm completely bored.

Any chance of swapping Miller and Ackley in the order. Miller K'sss way to much and it would be nice to get Ackley an extra AB since he is one of the few guys hitting consistently

Just saw the A's score 3 in the 9th to comeback and win. Would be nice to be able to come with clutch hits like them.

McClendon said that Ackley and Zunino are going to bat near the bottom all year because you know.....that makes sense somehow.

I dont like to complain about the lineup but having a leadoff man with a low contact rate, having miller at the top and ackley towards the bottom as well as sitting Franklin. Just seems like players are not being put in the best spots to succeed.

Seager is just not seeing the ball well. He just took 3 hittable balls for a strike including that last one in the middle of the plate for strike 3

Not sure why McClendon is so stubborn with the lineup. He should adjust it based on who is performing well. Currently Dustin Ackley and Mike Zunino are leading the team in BA, so keeping them near the bottom of the order makes little sense to me. Also by saying that he is unlikely to move them up in the lineup he is expressing little confidence in his own players to keep playing well.

I agree. Almonte's contact rate issues are really concerning.

The top 2 hitters are bad as I have seen in a lineup in while. Cano will be lucky to get 50 RBIs if McClendon is going to be stubborn and not change it.

Given our current roster give me
1. LF Ackley
2. RF/DH Franklin
3. 2B Cano
4. RF/DH Hart
5. 3B Seagar
6. 1B Smoak
7. Zunino
8. CF Almonte/Saunders
9. SS Miller

Maybe Im crazy but I feel like that lineup gives us a better chance to succeed

I think that is a solid lineup. I'd consider keeping Miller in at #2 simply because I think he pulls it together by the end of the year, but I wouldn't mind seeing Franklin hitting 2nd.

Meanwhile 9 up 9 down so far. Elias with arguably the best AB so far.
