PSL - Personal Seat License?
Personal preference of course, but why prefer renting? I'm thinking teacher is a pretty stable job and with kids you wouldn't likely want to move much. I not a fan of renting in general mostly because I lose my tax write offs. Of course I'd imagine you can rent an amazing place in AZ for much less than what I would have to pay so that comes into play too.
Thank you.. yes "PSL" couldn't remember the name??!!
If I were a Financial Advisor Id never recommend a teacher renting. You lose the tax write offs and the deductable line of credits. Phoenix is a relatively inexpensive city to an extent. I live in an expensive area but rent. All those nice big homes for cheap are waaaaay out in the desert and urban sprawl sucks. Since I've sold my house I've been so much happier renting. It may burn me when I retire and don't have a home paid off but owning equals misery too me.. I hate lawns, broken sprinklers, day to day up keep. Hate it with a capitol H! Life is sooo much better not worrying about those things. My daughter is off to college this August and its time to buy our retirement home. The plan is to get into some sort of high rise condo in the next 2 years. As I said many of the HOA fees are bordering on criminal. It will just be easier for us to find the right place now the kids are all grown up.
