"Perry having more yards"

^^^^^^^^^^

Wrong. Instead of saying something that's incorrect you should have looked their career numbers up.

Yep Craig & Perry don't compare. Craig has two seasons of 2,000+ yards from scrimmage. Perry zero. Craig had 5 seasons of at least 1,150 total yards from scrimmage. Perry had two.

Total yards from scrimmage. Craig- 13,100 / Perry- 11,744
Total yards per game. Craig- 79.4 / Perry- 64.1

Just talking rushing

Perry 8689 68td 5.2 avg
Craig 7064 50 4.2

Keep in mind Perry did that in 12-14 game seasons, if he'd played in 16 game seasons, well!

Check out that average per carry....5.2

Dude, you try so hard, hahahaha!!!!!!!!

I like Craig, but he was no Joe Perry and if ya knew the game you'd know that. When Perry retired he was the NFL;s All Time leading rusher and today is number 34. He is in the HOF, Craig isn;t.

Oh so you're just talking about rushing yards and ignoring all the other stats? Craig still averaged more total yards per game. Yet you claimed otherwise.

It's funny how allergic you are to stats.

Most important number for any RB is that average per carry, Perry a gaudy 5.2, which dwarfs Craig's 4.2. A yard a carry difference is HUGE. Pery had 11 seasons averaging 4.5 or better. Craig had 5 seasons avaraging less than 4.

Joe Perry was the first RB in history to have consecutive 1000 yards seasons, he was far more revered in his day than Craig was in his. That is why Perry is in the HOF and Craig
isn;t.

Staying with Perry vs Craig

Perry had seasons averaging

7.3
6,8
5,2
5,0
5.3
6,1
another 6.1

Craig never had a season better than 4.9

Perry had 8 seasons where he unleashed a 50 yards or better run, Craig had two.

Perry two All Pro, Craig one

And.....Perry had to share carries with another Hall of Fame RB the great Hugh "King" McElhenny,

IMO, it is easily Craig over Perry...

Craig has better overall stats

Craig won more championships 3 vs 0

Craig is a more modern player...

with that said, neither of them should be considered as the teams top 4...

you cant ignore receiving... Craig, was one of the best receiving backs.. and his numbers show that... and it explains why his rushing numbers are a little lower... because he was used more in the passing game...

Perry's highest scrimmage yard season was 1252

that would be 1669.333 in 16 games...

Craig had over that in 2 seasons where he demolished it with 2 seasons of over 2000 yards

Back in the days of Joe Perry they didn't throw to RB's much. That part of the game hadn't arrived yet.

Perry had a slew of seasons aveaging 5/6 yards a carry, Craig never had ....one.

Playing in 12 games seasons, sharing carries with fellow Hall of Famer Hugh McElhenny didn't help his numbers, if 16 game seasons and not other stud his numbers would have been way out there, and you don't ignore that.

If we are just talking rushing Craig Still had the single best season amongst the 2... in 1988 he had 1502 rushing yards

Perry's highest was 1049 which would be 1398.6666 in 16 games...

that is a full 100 yards better...

again Craig was a great receiving back... if you want to say Perry was a better pure rusher, then fine... stats support that, even though Craig had the best single season...

But you cant ignore the part of the game that craig excelled at.... and if you do look at the numbers, Perry wasn't a bad receiver either.... he averaged 1.4 receptions per game...

Craig averaged 4,8 in that season, In Perry's best rushing season......6.1....yep....6.1...that is unheard of.

Not sure you are gettig just how big a deal average per carry is when talking a RB, as a Niner Perry 5.2, Craig 4.2....that is massive, HUGE!!!!!!!!!

Joe Perry was the best RB in football that was never Roger Craig.

When the NFL had their 1950;s all decade team, yep....Joe "Jet" Perry

#4 is tough. For me it's Dorsett. Most will put Emmitt. If you truly were making a replica of Mt Rushmore Landry and his hat would certainly add some character and definition to the Mountain and thus, perhaps, be the easy choice
You normally seem to know your stuff but Danny White? What the hell.

Can't say enough about Joe Perry.

He is the only player in NFL history who gained over a 1000 yards in a season with just a JC education, Compton JC.

He was the firs black to have a 1000 yard season.

The first RB to have consecutive 1000 yard seaons.

He put up these averages...

7.3
6,8
5.2
5.0
4.6
5.3
6.1
4.5
4.5
6.1

....his first 10 seasons, who does that?

Right now today he is still in the top 40 rushers of all time, number 34.

And if not for 12 game seasons and Hugh McElhenny imagine where his numbers would be.

Oh yeah, back in the 40;s he ran a 9,5 100 yards dash, world record...9.3
