I watched NFL Network's Top-10 the other day.

(10)Derrick Thomas' 7 sacks in one game.
(9)Otto Graham's 10 title games in 10-year career (7-3).
(8)The Dolphins' 1972 perfect season.
(7)Tom Landry coaches the Cowboys for 29 years.
(6)49ers win 18 straight road games.
(5)Don Hutson leads NFL in TD's 8 times.
(4)Bucs lose 26 straight.
(3)Brett Favre's ironman streak (321 games).
(2)Drew Brees' 54-game TD streak.
(1)Don Shula wins 347 games (1963-95).

Some records I don't think will be broken any time soon...
-Emmitt Smith's 18,355 career rushing yards. Frank Gore with 13,065 is the closest active player. Adrian Peterson at 11,747 is next.
-Bill Belichick/Tom Brady win 5 rings.
-Jerry Rice's 22,895 receiving yards, 1,549 receptions, and 208 total TD's.
-Bruce Smith's 200 career sacks.

Jeremiah Ratliff had four first half sacks in a game versus Miami in 2014. The Bears got beaten down pretty good though. So, Miami didn't pass much in the second half. It's unlikely, but I think it could be done.

Eli is on track to break Favre's streak.

Perfect season will happen

Honestly, I think most of these can be done except for Graham's. It's not like baseball, where hitting .440 or winning 500 games like players did in the 19th century is just impossible.

He would have to start every game in his 36-41 age seasons, and then come back for a couple games at age 42. That seems like a stretch.

2 more seasons max, unless he plays incredibly

This org has surrounded him with what really is a SB caliber roster now......If they fail this season, there is a good chance it becomes very obvious he is the problem

Could have said the same thing about Favre at Eli's age.

I'm not saying it's likely. I'm saying it's not impossible.

I'm not saying it's impossible either, I'm just saying it's a stretch.

I post on another board with a guy who is the biggest Eli fan in the world. Every year starts out telling us how this is finally the year they have it all in line for Eli. Then by October he's pulling out the excuses. This specific guy also thinks Eli is one of the GOAT's simply for winning two SB MVP's and is a shoe-in 1st ballot HOF'er. So... not the most level headed dude. I just think it would be funny to see him have to explain away why Eli was let go, and deemed the problem.

Well that's where you're wrong. Would it have been far far better to finish off a perfect season? of course. To totally dismiss the greatest win streak in NFL history however, is just ridiculous.
It's quite easy to dismiss a season in which you FAILED the win the Super Bowl.

Not when you accomplish something no team ever has.

....your turn.

a few more that were overlooked:

1. marvin harrisons 143 catches
2. george blandas 26 seasons
3. jim hardy once picked off 8 passes in one game (granted it was a long time ago)
4. paul krause has 81 career picks. no one will pass that.
5. flipper anderson had 336 yards in one game

1. could happen
2. nope
3. nope
4. could happen
5. could happen

Good list though.

How come it's the Lombardi Trophy and not the Landry Trophy?

He had a great 8 year run and

It was officially renamed in 1970 in memory of NFL head coach Vince Lombardi, after his death from cancer

According to the wiki. and they are pretty damn factual. ask any librarian.

Vince Lombardi Trophy - Wikipedia

Hard to top that. Landry coached for another 20 or so years after they gave the name to the trophy.

I don't know about the NFL, but in all sports, I doubt anyone will break Wilt's record of sexing 20,000 women or his 100 point game.

2016: Reggie Bush rushes for minus 3 yards on 12 carries. The fewest rushing yards by a non-QB since the NFL/AFL merger in 1970. Not sure if that qualifies for this thread but that's a helluva record.

I think they could have the best defense in the NFL, if not, somewhere in the Top 5 for sure

They have added Marshall and this rookie TE who by all accounts should be an immediate contributor.

So all the ducks are in place....Eli IMO was the biggest problem in them not making a deep run last season.....As far as the HOF, he will end up with 2 rings, and Top 5 or 6 in some of the most important categories

I dont see him as a HOFer, and def dont put him in any GOAT convo, but he will prob meet the criteria required to be a HOFer
