I looked it up and I had never even heard of that former batting title winner. But I did guess Dimaggio. who won the batting title in the AL that same year so I'll take that as being "close".

Here's a bit of trivia I just learned from an oldtimer. Apparently if you have an IRA you have to take out a certain percentage when you are 72. By the time you're 116 you have to take out all of it. In case you were wondering why all the Walmart greeters look like they are 117 years old.
