Theyve had some great players over time,but I was surprised no ROY nor an MVP......
I was thinking in 2001 when they won the WS,I was thinking Randy Johnson may have gotten mvp,but nope.

2001 mvp award went to Bonds with Sosa 2nd and Luis Gonzalez 3rd.....Luis ahead of Johnson??
I knew Luis had a good season,but didnt think it was greater than Randys.

Pitchers hardly ever get serious MVP buzz. when was the last time a position player had such a good year he was mentioned in the CY discussion?

Well that never happens,not sure how a positional player would equate in a CYA,but pitchers do get votes for mvp.....

Infact RJ got votes 23 votes in 2021 for the mvp award.....

Kershaw won it in 2017 and Justin Verlander just before him......I would not call that hardly ever......

Not to mention Ohtani......

Before Kershaw, it hadn’t happened in aver 25 years. It IS hardly ever. And never when there is a legit position player contender.

Ohtani is a special case.

And is a pitcher considered a position,cause the last I knew it was.....

So comparing positions like it should be:
