Mookie's been worth as many WAR (30.6) as Harper (30.5) despite having 283 fewer games played. Betts rates at +98 DRS and has a 14.6 UZR/150 (which would make him among the best defensive players in baseball), whereas Harper rates at +2 DRS and 0.2 UZR/150 (average). Defensive metrics also rated Harper as a well below average defender last year, but we'll see whether that's small sample size noise. Stats give Betts a signficiant edge defensively.

As for baserunning, not only does Betts have three seasons with more than Harper's career high in stolen bases (21), but Betts has been caught stealing 9 fewer times than Harper despite having 35 more stolen bases.

And you're trying to give Betts flack for missing time last year, but Harper's missed 40+ games three times. Come on.

That being said, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Harper's a better hitter from here on out.
