Houston didn't pick up the option for Chad Qualls....he looks like a guy I'd want the Sox to grab.

Very impressive K/BB numbers. Flukey HR and Strand rates (esp considering his GB tendencies).

Going to be an interesting off season. Wonder where Price ends up and who scoops up Greinke? What do the Blue jays and Red Sox do?

I would look for the Cubs to make an offer for Price

I don't think the sox go big for a SP in FA.

They'll trade for one (like Ty Ross? Maybe eating Melvin Upton to platoon with JBJ so the prospect cost is smaller?) and use that 12th overall pick as part of th way to restock the farm system.

I do think the bullpen gets a major overhaul.

Right now at the top of my list is Qualls (who was just made a FA) and Danny Duffy (who could be non-tendered).

The Dbacks' needs are fairly simple, a front line starter or two, and a closer.

-I see them shopping on the secondary market for guys like Leake, Iwakuma, & Chen while also pursuing Maeda.
-I also think they could try to package some of their assets for Carlos Carrasco or Sony Gray.
-Madison & Soria are likely targets for the closer role. Or a Giles type via trade with a rebuilding team. I don't see them spending major assets for any of the elite closers available via trade.

I love the D-backs next year.

2B is a major hole until Drury is ready. But they can survive.

I think a guy like Lackey is completely in the cards. Or bringing Leake "home" (he's an ASU guy) would be nice.

Dont' forget that they get Hudson back, and both Corbin and Robbie Ray look like the real deal. They had numbers on part with some of the indians top starters. A good sign for them.

Bradley probably needs more seasoning but when Aaron Blair comes up, kick Rubby to the pen and he could be the 2016 version of Wade Davis. That arm is electric.

It's hilarious how Lackey has turned himself into a hot commodity...

Boston lost their minds on him too early.

He wasn't that bad his first year, the Sox OF defense was the worst in the majors that year and Lackey was a FB pitcher.

His advanced metrics supported a sub 4 ERA.

Then I think he clearly pitched a good part of 2011 hurt. I remember he got his elbow checked out in like June of that year and was just awful after that. He had TJ at the end of that year. Dude tried to gut out a torn elbow.

He was nails again once he got healthy in 2013.

Cubs did a qualifying offer to Dexter Fowler of 15.8 million dollars, a 6.3 million dollar raise. Mainly did it to get a compensation pick back, but still, thats a ton more than I expected of 11 or 12 million. He might be the first player in the history of a qualifying offer to accept it.

Cubs need pitchers to perform in the post season, price did not show that he could, let alone basically making him a 3 so Arrieta would split the two lefties.

Most of the top closers have a similar story to Davis, including Rivera and Eck.

I would think he's more likely to be a herrera type, but if there's a sp to rp star born in the near future, Rubby would be near the top of the list for me.
