Why wasn't there more talk about Adam Thielen on here? I didn't realize he was available. He just signed a 3yr $28M deal with Carolina. He may not have been the true #1 but certainly would've improved the WR position. It's been proven, NE doesn't need a true 1 in order to win.

Not a position of need. And a bit overrated

Really?

I thought you were one of the ones harping on needing a WR?

So adding JuJu to replace Meyer fixed that issue?

Thielen is a workhorse. Would love to have his #s and grit on this team. Instant improvement to this offense and teams would need to worry about.

Question?

Would it be worth signing Matt Ryan if BB could get him really cheap??

Be like having a ( remove this word - working) coach.
FIFY, How well did he "work" last year?

Thielen hates BB and BB doesn't particularly like him. He's had a few words about the Patriots and has never had a great game against them in thye few he's played. He also had some sour words about TB12 when he was in NE. Not a match made in heaven.

I always ask the question, why did his team cut him? Was it just cap space or declining performance?

As of midnight, Patriots cap situation after all of last week's signings looks like this:

Cap Salaries (Top 51) $201,343,199
2023 Draft $6,450, 562
Dead Cap $19,449,604

total =$227,243,365

According to Miguel Bezan, Bill has about $16,000,000 left to spend with adjustments. If he follows his normal procedure, he'll set aside $5,000,000 for emergencies and will have about $11,000,000 left to spend on warm bodies.

Yes I want a #1 not another Slot or #2 or #3

Happy you would love to have him, and I am happy we did not sign another at best average WR. Have a nice day.

I suspect that 11 mil may go toward a FA #1 WR or S / CB. If he spends it all.

BB addressed the O line to a degree, but I suspect we draft at least two O linemen one OT and on IOL. We need youth on the line

At this point go you feel BB and the Pats are done in FA or do you see them making more moves?

I think there may be one more move for DHOP or Jeudy if the cap space can be managed. Getting either of these with the signing of JuJu and an unknown asset in Thorton would elminate the need to sign a WR early in the draft.

Thanks.

We are on opposite sides of needing a true #1. I'll go with the past 20 years of not having one (minus Moss). I'd take another great slot guy. Mac hasn't shown the ability to be a prolific long ball passer here or at Alabama. Give me a shifty receiver who can get open quickly. Playing to one of Mac's strong suits, his decision making.

Put Thielen in this line up along with a two TE set and teams will have trouble stopping the NE O.

This I can agree with.

Not that I think it's needed. But quite honestly I'd rather see BB do this than use #14 on a WR.

I'll have to take your word on this hate thing? Hate is a strong word. But, whatever.

He didn't have big games because BB did BB. He took their big play maker away like he so often does.

Agreed based on his horrific history I prefer we just get out WRs in FA

I say we need a true ! b/c we no longer have Brady. TB12 was a blessing he made WRs better I don't think Mac can do that, so we need to up his supporting cast.

I see that side of the arguement but we haven't given Mac a real chance yet.

So without getting a Dhop. We both agree BB's track record at drafting a true one is lower than dog shit.

A player like Thielen is a typical BB style player. Was it all TB or was it coaching and those shifty slot guys that had the it factor in NE?

I think it's a little bit of both.

I'd be willing to roll the dice on a Thielen type with Mac, with BoB and find that OT in the draft.

But that's me
