im not mel kiper but i want to see what kind of talent the mariners are likely to get..but like most mocks you mock ten times and get ten different results..so it ends up being just for fun..but you learn about the players about to be drafted..with that said leeeeettttsss goooooo

round1
15 logan gilbert.stetson.RHP..i think he is just the best value at #15 that will fit in with depotos style..and still help the mariners as well

all these next ones will be assuming another team does not pick those players before the mariners get to them..way to hard to guess so we just put cool players we like.....lolol

#2 kris bubic stanford LHP I..think he will still be there he may not be but the mariners need LH pitching

#3 hogan harris uc-lafayette LHP...should be there as well

#4 brett conine cal st fullerton RHp( releif.).if brooks wilson RHP from stetson was still there i would take him ..just dont think he will be

#5 david garza inf.tennessee tech.i see him as a second base prob could do first or third as well and did ss last year...cuz he is 6-1 200 R/R SR..and from othello wash..329 ave 14HR 60 rbi's..just kept rising up my board

#6 chase chambers 1B L/L tennesee tech...whaaaaat two tenn tech guys in a row..yeah they just ended a 28
game winn streak..they are 40-6 that is the best record of any lvl....but they are only ranked # 23 by D1 collage baseball...aside from that..they have a few good pitchers ,..but there lineup just keeps coming at ya

#7 cody deason RHp arizona..did well the last couple of years and in the cape code league

#8 trevor casanova.Cal st U northridge ...catcher and utility player drafted by mariners at #14 last year
good hitter...i dont want to let him get away..again

#9 trevor snyder 1b R/R moorehead state 6-3..351 ave..slg 632 obp..400

#10 danial bais Gonzaga..RHP..woodinville wash..guy is 6-8 like povse but he strikes guys out more

#11.maaki yamazaki...Short stop..LHH..walked on at hawaii..he is from tokyo japan..but dont act like he does not have any experiance..was a member of chiba-japan national team in 2013

#12 scott schreiber nebraska../R/R of ..he hits a lot of hr"s with good ave he could go RF..if he still there

#13kyle gray inf L/r 5-10 west virginia...from blanco texas..he or clemens from utexas may not be there then

#14brennon kaleiwahea...catcher...tenn tech R/R 6-0 304 ave 400 hr 6..rbi 44...from lacey wash...yep another ttu guy

#15 kyle isbel..cf..unlv L/L..he just does the stuff you want him to..well

#16 tylor niemann inf/ out L/L..moorehead state 315 ave 6 hr

#17 dylan thomas ..RHP hawaii..6-4 1.30 era 34 innings 40 so

# 18 colin harris of tenn tech R/R he can do everything you want as well

#19 rayne supple RHP wake forrest..he was good this last year ill take a flyer

#20alex junior of L/L tenn tech..???..yep..lol im hoping he is like heredia

that is enough for now lololol...lol

#21trent shelton..cal poly 6-4..LHP

to be able to trade at will and /or...have the starting pitching coming from the minors that is necessary in any MLB
organization
#1 first you must start with starting pitching..if the other team cant score they cant win
#2 second.good relief pitchers ...to insure the effectiveness of #1

the mariners can not afford to fail to accomplish this in the next 4 years ...which is the time it takes a collage drafted guy
to complete his first contract...basicly ..high school guys have six years

for the first two to be the most effective..you must have
#3 good catchers.. #3A defencive #3B mental(game calling,communication with pitchers,situational awareness)
3C its nice to draft catchers who can hit
the catcher is the QB of a baseball team always good and nice to have good ones at every lvl

next in line is
short stop,2B,cf,3b,LF,1B,rf..most hitters are right handed which puts 3B and LF before 1B and Rf..being good up the center comes before that
and a lot of short stops and 2B men can play outfield..which makes them more valuable..

the mariners need to draft accordingly..and to fill holes from modesto on down

how this draft seems to be going by the way players are rated...right now there seems an opportunity going by mlb's
top 100

to draft
jackson kowar ...it is a toss up for these two guys either one would be good for the mariners

logan gilbert..... i think he is just scratching the surface of his upside..his collage major fits with depotos stuff..recruit the man...i think he will get stronger later..after a few more years his body style..leans to that..kowars does not
these are the two guys i would choose from

ethan hankins......i do not think he will be there...mlb rates his fastball at 80..rating not speed
mlb is getting as high as a kite right now with two weeks to go

ryan rolison.LHP.good lhp but i would still like kowar or gilbert.

kris bubic..LHP...also a good reason why i like kowar and gilbert...i would be hoping to get bubic..a west ..left coast guy
the mariners need to recruit a certain pct of west coast guys...to make sure everyone does not want to just take off for the yankees as soon as they can

although you are drafting these guys you still have to get them to buy in...to the whole mariners organization
unless you plan on just trading them...i would not want to ,...plan on doing that from here on out ...but it does happen

i had not looked at any other mocks till now and it seems those other mockers want gilbert as well
he has the most strike outs of the collage pitchers this year....5th in innings pitched

the smoke and mirrors has started===disinformation

i saw him mocked to the angel s twice the dodgers once and minnesota once

my argument on ryan rolison v logan gilbert is as fansided has said
his floor is high..his ceiling is not..rolisons.... logan's ceiling is high

why would mariners draft a guy #1 who they did not think would make it to the show...how dumb..is fansided

also they mocked him to minnesota along with brice turang to brewers

if the mariners cant fix wells..as a HS guy..and they have had trouble fixing ..newsome ..who seems to be responding now
a bit..then how will they deal with other HS pitchers

lets see how they do with ..carlson before going overboard with HS guys in the first 25 rounds this year
and after filling holes in the low minors this year with collage guys
then reevaluate at this time next year...then if it looks ok ...then fine go HS guys

all im saying is.. show me ...you can.............yes,.. i was once from missouri...lolol

picking infield and starters in the top 10 makes it so i will have to go catchers, OF, and relief pitchers for the next ten
there seems to be less good.. of ..prospects this year and a lot of good prospects next year for everything

first idk if you could get them this low but i will just put up the list of outfield guys that i have
#1 dashawn keirsey jr L/L 6-2 195 utah...CF...he has good numbers
#2 jeremiah burks R/R..6-2 200 fresno state..LF/ inf..really he can play anywhere
#3 blake clanton L/R ..6-1 205 wash st from oklahoma..i would prob take him between 16 and 20
#4 nick rodriguez R/R 6-3 185 .unlv played ss there i think he could easly play OF
#5 max smith of..6-1 200 L/R unlv..one more unlv guy
#6 collin harris..6-2 185 R/R...yep they just keep coming those ttu guys

i would not go any lower than this ..although there prob will be good prospects there as well

I wonder if the Maddux kid ever amounts to anything, saw him pitch his freshman year and he looked like he was about 82 pounds.

there are some questions of drafting for need by some ..and those people say you never draft for need in the first ten rounds.....BSBSBSBS..and true at the same time.....cuz im drafting for need in 40 rounds....what a bunch of DADADADA's

ahh that made me feel better
that said..i guess it is no secret that im targeting gilbert in the first round..but he could be taken before that and that is me
not the mariners(disclaimer)..lol
that said as well..i will pick an alternate right here just in case..

if brady singer is there ill take him...not likely
if shane mcClanahan is there ill take him..for sure ..but it is not likely

jackson kowar Rhp florida... is my alternate

rolison.. needs to get drafted this year cuz he might not be rated so high next year..that said i would still take him
if all those other guys and gilbert are off the board

the whole idea of drafting collage guys hopefully in the first 20-25 rounds ..this year...is to restock the lower minors
at a faster rate..then drafting HS guys
cuz and ..for example the mariners draft ..sam carlson ...HS minn last year....this year he is still at AZL..and may..
may mind you.. pitch at rookie everett..where collage players can get to clinton as soon as anywhere from two weeks to a month from being drafted..which with my draft...for example..gilbert and bubic would go strait to clinton..example and reference see kyle seager

for all those sports writers and mockers out there...if you never seen it done, or tryed it..then how do you know it does not work....and
if you don't try it first.....then you are a follower...not a leader

always nice to be on the cutting edge..lol
