Let's see, that would be Vegas oddsmakers who have millions dollars at stake, that would also be teams with home court advantage and one of the series vs. the 76ers, it was because James Worthy was out with a broken leg.

Additionally, the season is which the Lakers played the Bulls, they were the #3 seed in the Western Conference. They were not expected to reach the finals, however they upset the #1 seeded Portland Trailblazers who had won the Pacific Division by 5 games over the 2nd place Lakers, in the Western Conference finals.
