Petit is having a decent year in Fresneck

Some of the kids at Richmond have performed well. Kickham and Heston have had excellent seasons.

I am half LOL'ing, and half :dunce:'ing this post.

Are you being serious or joking?

If joking, Well played, sir.

If serious, :L

For the record, I suspect I am :dunce:, thus, Well Played Sir!!!

OK, I was half and half, too.

On the one hand, there is the chance to get rid of $20+ due to Zeets for the next year and his buyout. Certainly we can find a pitcher or two in the off season for less than that. Heck, the Dogs will have an extra pitcher or three after their spending spree.

Additionally, while Zeets has pitched well, once the rosters expand, when Zeets' spot in the rotation comes along, why not go all COL and have a 75 pitch limit on the starter? We will have more than enough pitchers to handle it.

On the other hand, I just wanted to see if anyone would bite at the :dunce: bait so expertly put out there.

I am ashamed of myself for stooping so low.

Fun with Twitter, from Jayson Stark:

Batting Stance Guy
@BattingStanceG CoCo Crisp injures foot. Listed as both day-to-day and part of a well-balanced breakfast.

And this just in from those parody-headline geniuses at the Ironic Times:

50-YEAR-OLD ROGER CLEMENS POISED FOR RETURN TO MAJORS
And cryonics experts hope to have Ted Williams ready for the playoffs

LOL. They should have a headline soon saying:

DODGERS LOSE TO DIAMONDBACKS AGAIN. DODGERS TO INQUIRE ON ACQUIRING ENTIRE DIAMONDBACKS ROSTER.

Bochy said he’s pleased with the progress Belt has made.

“Without question, the progress has been pretty good with Brandon,” he said. “He’s gotten away from the swings-and-misses that he had so many of early in the season. He’s made some adjustments and his confidence has grown.

“Like all young players, it’s the normal growth. He’s turning on the ball better but still using left field. He gets more and more confidence that he can play up here.”

Belt's K-rate in August was 11.5%. Huge improvement over his previous rate (27%).

True, but he's got to ditch that constipated look when he gets rung up on a pitch he shouldn't be taking with two strikes...bad form.

So, I'm thinking about SabeySabes "minor" 2012 moves:

Stewy for Kontos
Culberson for Scoots
Waiver claim on Mijares
Penny FA
Nady FA
Hensley FA

I'd rate 4 of these six moves as winners, with Penny being a "no risk, no reward," and Nady as TBD.

These types of moves are often overlooked, yet can be critical to a contending team (see: Ross, Cody, e.g.).

The one thing about the Stewey trade is that Lincecum really liked to throw to him: 2.37 in a little over half a season of starts.

It was the fist pump. Posey, ever the baseball gentlemen, refuses to do it.
