I went to the Rivercats first game against the Fresno Grizzlies this year and got to see Whiteside go 0-3 with a walk. He is batting .218 in AAA ball.

I knew he sucked but I didn't realize he sucked that bad.

The A's Cuban defector looked really damn good. Easily the best player on the field.

The A'ss have been shut out 11 times through 54 games, that projects to 33 shutouts on the season. Looks like Crapzic was almost right....wrong team, wrong year, not quite 40 shutouts.

To be fair to the As Cespedes was out for some of those. He's a pretty good hitter, they won't get shutout at the same rate if he stays healthy. Also, Manny Ramirez cometh.

I heard Mitch Williams yesterday saying he thought Manny might be done.

Oh I'm not saying Manny is a lock to be a well-behaved Allstar leading the As to the playoffs. I'm just saying with him at DH and Cespedes back it will be harder to shut them out. Manny won't play a single game in the field.

BTW, if anyone has/can locate a link to the old Disney W's board where I wrote that Casius Zic "article" I'd really appreciate it. Probably the best thing I've ever written on the boards (not that this is saying much).

Agreed...and it will be interesting to see what he has left. I wouldn't be surprised if he has nothing...or puts up massive numbers...the guy is a freakin' enigma...
