Seriously?

If you don't have people you can say truly disgusting shit to, you don't have friends.

I don't know if anyone has said this to you so if I have to, then I will be the first.

You need to seek some help. If you think that people have to say "truly disgusting shit" in order to communicate to each other then you clearly need to think about who you are and more importantly what your goals are.

You enjoy your weekend there Just Dumb Mistakes.

To communicate? No.

But friendship is deeper than communicating. Friendship is no holds barred.

Bruschi my friend, you are letting a disagreement get to you. Obviously you have strong feelings about this subject but I would hope you would net let it get to you like this.

Arguing with JDM is like wrestling a pig in the mud....
After about half an hour, you reallize the pig's having a good time!

People are going to disagree......

Let's remember that Welker dropped a "disturbingly easy" catch in the Superbowl, and that pretty much sums up JDM's ability or willingness to execute thought. Don't get bent Bruschi....it's JDM man.

I think it's strange to have this kind of shit in pro sports. It's one of the few level playing fields for persons of color and I would have thought it to be rare. Can't imagine it happening in New England.

It is 100% victim blaming to put this on Martin.

A lineman could have caught that pass.

Back on topic, race wasn't a factor. Black teammates were also involved and he was overwhelmingly defended by black and white teammates alike. The issue was that Martin never raised any issue until he all of a sudden decided he was being bullied, then ran and cried to the press about it. GROWN MEN CAN'T BE BULLIED. It's not possible. Be a man and fucking handle yourself.

Thanks for the reminder Southie. I was beginning to believe that the positions and the way those positions are articulated by JDM was actually acceptable.

What I do know is this. If no one has noticed, the only people that are showing up here besides cdumler and the moderator troll, are the long-members from ESPN.

I have found another website that is much more germane to the Patriots and I am pretty sure that website has about the same amount of traffic that this website had before we decided to show up here.

Send me an email so that we can all get together and make the move. I will provide the website privately.

I don't know about you guys but JDM has proven that the sportshoopla experiment has failed and I am equally sure that Briz is allowed to go to this site.

Interesting for someone with a habit of chasing away any other team's fans who contribute quality posts here to both call someone else a troll and whine about lack of activity in the same post.

Yea - ok. I don't consider cdumler to be a troll anymore and he is about the only one on this board who clearly is a fan of another team unless tgann shows up.

The only troll that I see around here is frankly you and I even question whether or not you are a Patriots fan or a fan of any New England sports team.

Have a great weekend JDM. You are truly a great moderator and provide great insight on the New England Patriots. I know that I value what you say around here.

Gee Bruschi, I ain't gonna jump shit 'cause JDM's a know it all. OK, so if you look up "cocksure" in the dictionary, his pic is there but you have a scroll button, Just use it man.

Well maybe Vince could. Remember that run back was it last year? Where they did the slo mo on his girth? That was awesome!

Michael Bishop could have thrown a better pass.

You're an idiot. If Martin tried to do "man up" and do something about it he would have become an outcast on that team. That's how locker rooms work...if you're a team guy you take the bullying and if you don't you're a pariah. He took it and essentially had low grade traumatic stress every day he went to work until it accumulated and became too much to handle. In WWI they called it cowardice but today it's post traumatic stress...it's real and debilitating.

No, he wouldn't have. If you demand respect you get it. If you cry about it you don't.

It's pathetic, and he doesn't belong in the NFL.

I'm not like the rest of you, I've never played professional football. I always find that typing something from the safety and anonimity of my computer is a lot tougher and much more difficult than actually doing something.

Why a person makes a decision to do something is always up for debate, but actually calling out that person when you really have no first hand knowledge of his/her reasons, makes your argument very hollow. I always think it best to preface a remark with, "I believe, or I think" rather than making a bold statement as if it was absolute and true.

As far as Johnathan Martin's reasons for leaving the Dolphins when he did, is totally his. There comes a moment in time when when things just reach a point where a person feels he has no where to turn and has to just get out. A man leaves his wife, a woman leaves her husband nothing logical about it except to person leaving. Johnathan Martin doesn't owe an excuse or reason to anyone but himself and the Miami Dolphins ownership. Everyone else is a bystander and we have no bearing on his future.

On a personal note, I don't give a rat's ass why he did it. He did it and that's it. I'd pay $1000 to see JDM call Martin a name to his face and see how long he stood in front of him. Like I said, it's much more difficult to do it 1000 miles away and behind the keyboard.

If he asked my opinion on the matter I would give it. This topic is a discussion of the issue, so again, I gave my opinion.

He is. High stakes business means a high stress environment. If you can't handle minor harassment that doesn't remotely compare to the stress of a legitimate championship run, you don't belong.

Do you strive to be idiotic or does it just come naturally? Honestly I cannot remember a post that consistently posts more drivel then you. Is it a scream for attention do you feel the need to be part of something greater? My god why does this board not have an ignore feature and how in the name of Christ do you become a MOD.

The NFL is a group of elite individuals. Weakness is not and should not be accepted, defended, or tolerated.

The main point JDM is to NEVER concede a point or soften your position. The internet is an elite thought tank. Reflection is not and should not be accepted, defended, or tolerated.

Lol!

I have changed a variety of positions. That would however require new evidence that changes my understanding of reality, none of which has been presented.

I was a professional athlete. Your post is very well said and makes a lot of sense. Like you said, it is "I believe" "I believe" is an understood term. Not everybody bothers, i agree they should take the extra time to preface their remark. That said, people disagree. JDM disagrees and a lot of people don't like his opinion.
Most will never know or comprehend the level of drive it takes to make it as a pro - any sport. My opinion is that an NFL lineman should not be a victim. He should be tough enough to handle this. I understand that is not a popular statement! It IS my opinion.
JDM is a pain in the ass sometimes but he is entitled to his own opinion. Why should he change his mind? Why should I change my mind?

I for one think the Patriots organization could easily handle drafting Michael Sam.

Late to the party, but just on the topic of Michael Sam:

I hope we draft him if he makes sense at the draft position. I hope he doesn't slide because of it (but there's a good chance he will). If he does slide, I hope we take advantage of the bargain.

I also hope nobody overdrafts him in a cynical attempt to fill stadium seats in one of the more queer-embracing areas of the country (New England, but I doubt Belichick would ever let that happen... San Francisco, Seattle, a few other places). A lot is gonna be riding on Michael Sam's performance, and I hope he's drafted just where he deserves to go based on his talent, both out of simple fairness and because it gives him the best chance for success.

On the topic of Sam, that's my assessment. It would be disappointing but somewhat understandable to see him drop a little due to the spectacle that goes with him. He's already on magazine covers and is projected second round at best? But if he does fall, I think Bill takes the value (assuming the guy can play). If it's a distraction here I'd be honestly disappointed with this team. I think they're better than that.
