Fins still in the game after 1 quarter - progress
Yes agreed and we must remember that Davis went out early which eventually hurt the oline. It's bloody ridiculous he's played RG, RT, LT and now injured. deiter had to kick out to LT which is crazy for a rookie. Under the circumstances they didn't do horrible and Rosen played well too. D was also decent with all considered but they need more passrush...Tough loss yet again - but the Dolphins did create more chances to score - they just shot themselves on the foot one too many times, especially in the second half.
The good thing is, they showed gradual improvements on both sides of the ball - the kicking game must be better, however.
No turnovers by Rosen - the sacks were a combination of poor blocking on a particular play - and just have to credit the Dallas defense.
Still not happy with the lack of balance between running vs pass plays - but the Dolphins did do a better job with time of possession - despite ultimately losing that battle.
The penalty yardage was kept low - the timing of those penalties was the bigger issue
Thankfully, the Dolphins have gotten out of these 3 losses fairly healthy outside of the Hurns situation. Hopefully he will be fine eventually. It was looking like he was poised for a decent game prior to that.
All you can ask for in a rebuilding situation is to make gradual improvement - and we are starting to see that after the week 1 performance.
