I get that, but nobody, NOBODY thought that Ingram would double his touches, I don't give a damn how bad his knee was hurting. Now you get a bye week followed by a big freaking question mark of a guess on how the touches will be distributed in that backfield.

Ingram avg 19 touches last year. Kamara avg 13 once they started splitting duties.

My guess is it will be similar this year. More towards a split though.

People need to understand Ingram is a very good back and brings something to the table that the Saints need. Kamara is great but doesn't mean the Saints should stop getting Ingram his 15+ touches. People are too concerned with the 9 touches Kamara got

Yea he'll probably follow it up with a 20pt game against a tougher defense.
Considering he only has one double digit performance I doubt that. He and Smith dont appear to be on the same page.

True. Just stating that from previous experience with him.. But those were the Cousins days. Seems like Smith targets Vernon Davis more.

People are rightly concerned with Kamara's touches and usage.

Ingram is a good back. But Kamara is elite. He is LeVeon Bell.

This situation would be exactly the same as if Conner gets twice as many touches as Bell once he returns. My guess is that Tomlin is not stupid enough to do that.

At the very least, Kamara should be on the field for ALL obvious passing downs. He wasn't last night.

And the Saints won easily lol.

He got more touches but they were on the field for about the same amount of plays.

Ingram is a top 15 back in the league and is also a pretty good receiving back as well. Acting like he doesn't have any business on passing downs is crazy. He is avg over 50 catches over the last 3 seasons. I'm sure the split will be closer in their next time

You guys are on here acting like Ingram is some bum lol. I'm convinced you guys don't think Ingram should get more than 5 touches per game at this rate. The guy has avg 5 yards per carry the last 2 seasons but the Saints supposed to act like he doesn't exist because Kamara is great?

I dont think anyone is saying that. I think they are saying Kamara should get more than Ingram. 60/40 type thing but last night was 66/33 the other way

touches not plays

Ingram 18
Kamara 9

I know but point is they were on the field for close to the same amount of plays. Payton can't control if Kamara ended up on the field for passing plays and Brees found other options.

Going into a game with a set % for each player when you have 2 good backs isn't smart. You let the game dictate that as you go.

I'm sure if Ingram didn't get off to such a good start then Kamara would have gotten more touches

I will agree to an extent. Kamara still averaged more per carry but I agree they are both good backs

I don't know why you're harping on us about this. The Saints have had no problem at all thinking Ingram is a bum in years' past when they shouldn't have. There have been several instances in the last couple of years that he and Payton have had issues with each other and now all of the sudden they roll out the red carpet for him. I get Ingram being on the field for short yardage situations and for even an every 3rd series type thing, but Kamara is clearly better at football than Ingram is at this point in their careers. I guess we'll see what happens in week 7 when they play Baltimore. We'll see if they give Ingram his 20 carries that he can turn into 45 yards or do something that actually makes sense in that game.

Payton main problem with Ingram in the past was fumbles. I don't think any Saints fans had a problem with Ingram running ability after his first 2 years. Him bumping heads with SP doesn't make him a bad player or doesn't mean they should just give up on him

Turning Ingram into a short yardage and 3rd back only is beyond stupid.

Kamara is better than him....But Ingram is still a damn good back and would start on more than half of the teams in the league

Yeah, 26-6 pretty early. The coach made a great call limiting Kamara in this one...and getting Ingy involved.

I don't get the wide eyed panic either. It made 1000% sense in general, hut especially with a bye coming up next.

yeah....this is not happening. They're not going to insist on feeding Ingram the ball if he is avg 2 yards per carry.

You guys are really on here acting like Ingram played bad last night.

If I didn't watch the game last night or had access to internet, I would legit think Ingram avg less than 2 yards per carry last night.
