If you have players that were in "starting" spots on your roster and you decided to replace them with waiver wire players, ESPN puts the new players in your bench, regardless of the bench-limit.

You will still have the same amount of players. And (after the transaction) you will have a couple of open "starter" positions to fill. But the new players will be on your bench.

Call it an ESPN flaw, but that's why I think it is not enforceable using ESPN bench options.
Hmmm...me thinks a test Wednesday evening is in order...no one be alarmed when you see the league manager adjusting settings messages, or when you see me drop Cam Newton only to use LM powers to re-add... :)

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.

Um, you won't be able to.
You cannot make roster setting adjustments after the draft.
ESPN locks those options.

I don't know what the numbers are for the two main MBBRL leagues, but in the two MBBRL Dynasty leagues there have been 43 Inactives/Byes/Nobodies played as of this week. 28 in D1 but 8 of those have been Micro and his RB problems and 15 in D2.

Big difference between Dynasty and the main leagues, but I don't remember this many last year in D1.

I think last year, there were plenty first time dynasty players, and many of us made concerted efforts to build a roster with bye and such in mind...now we've realized long term is more important than that one week.

That and/or perhaps there's a couple out there that aren't taking it seriously. I know it's the easiest one for me to forget to check after Inactives are posted not that I'm blowing it off, but, like I said, knowing that one week isn't the end all be all in a dynasty, put them down the totem pole.

That is why I went back and said big difference between Dynasty and the main leagues. I was using Dynasty because I had the numbers in front of me, whereas I do not have the numbers for the main MBBRL leagues.

Welp... Like I predicted @averagejoe ... My team didn't have a chance. At least I somehow managed to field a complete team, albeit a non-competitive one, without losing much value

Is very rare, and 99% of the time is simply an accidental oversight/forgetfulness..maybe real life gets in the way type stuff...can honestly say we've never hit two, in the same week with questionable circumstances like we've got this week

Much respect Face..especially this week, not always easy to do what must be done in order to field a full team

Only wish I had held onto Tate and dropped Barber... Guess i was hoping for a miracle out of Barber with Jacquizz being injured.

What is up with CMike tonight and looks like Jimmy Graham is back. Grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory again this week.

I dropped one player this year that I drafted fairly early. because I would of had an open spot in my line up
again this week I dropped a player to be certain I played 9

I was always certain that in the main MBBRL leagues we had to play a full 9

now I see others leaving spots open and not in error as it is obvious when you see there add drops

and thus I'm disappointed in that person sliding below our MBBRL standard

Week 9 Recap (did I just type a "9"? ...geesh, this thing flies!)

"Bye Bye Bengals"

bengal-cat-sleeping.jpg

Lefty defends Ram - 95.1 to 86
Gurley continues to disappoint, but Lefty's savvy moves continue to rise above. Yup, his 11.7 Tannehill spot start was actually the right call, with Carr vs the Broncos. Missed Wallace's revenge game, but prevails. North of .500 to 5-4.
Rams Bengals caught sleeping on their bye. His whole bench on a bye. Henry finds a goose egg, Latavius' gem left to die, Nelson continues to be a scoring machine though. And Ram would have beaten four of us. South to 3-6.

Treff kicks Bandit - 104.6 to 90.7
Three fudpucking wins in a row for Treff. Ajayi continues to dominate, as the rest of the league got Tunsilitis last spring. A 15 pointer from your kicker helps too... who needs Superman? Well, Treff won't mind if he boards the train. Above water at 5-4.
Bandit gets another tough luck loss. I'm sure he's gutting himself enough for benching Frank the Tank, so I won't twist the knife. Has to be thrilled with Rodgers new offense though. Treading water at 5-4.

Chef warms up Milk - 84.3 to 71.6
Not much of a fire this week, but Chef does enough to escape his Gronk-bye. Have we ever seen a 9-0 before? That I do not know -- ( @canesandfinsfanatic ....cough, cough). We see it now though. Unmatched at 9-0.
Milk had bye issues of his own and missed his Bears this week. Beckham finds the record books, but nothing but bad Luck for Milk as every Saint seemed to produce except his two. Sits at 3-6.

Joe lifts Face - 112.9 to 82.2
Joe stayed on top of it and got in an active Cobb. His new TE was a nice acquisition, despite Tyrell having a day too... but Joe has some pretty good Chargers himself in the bank. Still awaiting to ring the TD Bell. Climbs to 4-5.
Big Ben and Brown.... in garbage time? Just in time for Face, but not enough. Fingers crossed for Reed and Martin returning next week to get this man back to full strength. Slides to 3-6.

Tlance tko's TKO - 135.4 to 68.9
No mercy this week from the TD Makers, well, actually there was mercy because Alf Morris was in the majority of the 4th quarter leaving Zeke with only 21.7. After cursing his decision to start Ingram over Hightower, a 75 yard TD ensued and Tlance never looked back. Breathes some life at 3-6.
A big zero from Coates who had a missed bomb, and a drop in the end zone, coupled with a Crabtree vs the Broncos matchup, and I had no shot. Guess I shouldn't haze Ram if I'm holding Rawls and Watkins instead of making some moves myself. Wouldn't have mattered this week, another low score of the week. Choking at 5-4.

....and the game of the week!

SP book ends Fuzzy - 126.8 to 118.5
Wow! What a game! From the Thursday showdown with Ryan vs Evans/Julio/kicker, to the Monday battle between Graham and C-Mike, this was not only the game of the week, but I would consider the game of the year! I was wondering if I would be talking about another one-yard loss or something, but two one-handed TD catches from Graham ices the cake for SP. Rises to 6-3.
Fuzzy takes another bad loss. After a monster start to the week, Fuzzy fizzed out everwhere but QB... and Brady was on a bye! Once you go Dak, you never go back? Sets to 3-6.

horribly called game by the refs Monday night... horrible.

So sick of the Bills losing by one play.

Now I get to lay in bed and not sleep.........................disgusted.

Seattle is having O-line issues... Seems like they've been abandoning the run game more often

Yes it was pretty bad. .... everything about the field goal try at the end of the first half was just wrong. ... should have been a personal foul added to the off-side. Then the ref standing over the ball until only a few seconds left. ...

Can't see it being a problem IF you just make sure to put the player being replaced on the bench before the transaction occurs. .... I always do that anyway.

Yup. Bad night sleep didn't help me either. Still disgusted. Mostly because we still should have won.

But Jordan Mills cannot pass block. Worst Tackle ever.

I have to say, I think you guys are creating much ado about nothing here. If someone routinely and intentionally, (either by strategy or inattention) leaves spots open, they should be out of the league.

That said, I don't think that happened here.

I have been in spots in other leagues where I had 2-3 key players on bye and a couple others injured. I try all week to negotiate a trade, but no worthwhile deals come my way. 5 minutes before kickoff, I am faced with a choice: drop a core player for a bye week replacement, or roll with the 0.

As long as the owner in question has made every reasonable effort (including seeking trades) to correct this problem, I think it is wrong to say there should be an additional consequence for someone starting a bye week player. Things happen.

It would Be a mistake to force a punishment on an owner already in a tough spot. We have all proven ourselves to be dedicated and sportsmanlike. Adding a consequence for this misdemeanor would be like grounding your son after he fell out of a tree and broke his arm. Sometimes the natural consequence is plenty.

This could apply to Ram's case, not to Shady's..regardless, we allow it to happen, eventually it will become routine. not on my watch
