my thoughts exactly. even with the rookie WR being the more talented one (which is often the case, and the reason for them being drafted in the first place) they don't just automatically get the starting role over the veteran WR. Most time they are worked into certain packages that don't have complex reads or route adjustments, at least for the beginning of the season. The A J Greens of the world are few and far between. Even Julio Jones had a quiet first half of his rookie year. And those were two of the better years by rookie WRs since Boldin/Moss.
Most recent evidence to this point. .Tavon Austin and Coradelle Patterson. I can't think of one single person who didn't know that they instantly became the midst talented WR's on their teams the second they signed the contract. . Where either of them major fantasy contributers last year? Yes Patterson had a great end of the year, but wasn't a guy you HAD to have on your team.
And those two are head and shoulders, talent wise, over every receiver in this year's class, with the line exception of Watkins.. and is very arguable that they both were drafted into better situations than Watkins as well.
