The acquisition of Frazier will give the White Sox a drastically altered infield composition, as he’ll now take over at third base with fellow trade acquisitionBrett Lawrie moving over to second base. Frazier, who turns 30 in February, adds a power bat to the middle of Chicago’s lineup to complement fellow right-handed slugger Jose Abreu. The reigning Home Run Derby champion, Frazier has batted a combined .264/.322/.479 with 64 home runs over the past two seasons with the Reds. He’s set to earn $7.5MM in 2016 and can be controlled via the arbitration process for the 2017 season, after which he will be eligible for free agency.

The Doyers got the better prospects in this deal.

Its odd, usually you see some prospects going from one team to both of the others in this type of deal.

I've been a fan of montas for years now.

He'll probably end the year in the dodger bullpen unless injuries force him to make a ton of starts this year for them.

More likely is he starts/develops at AAA and then finishes the year in the dodgers pen like we've been teams do before.

Except he's had 3 straight years of being respectable and well above average at 3rd. Will he repeat last year? Probably not, but it won't be a dramatic fall.
Last year he only hit .233 away from CIN and only hit .220 after the All Star break. He is very, very risky

He's a first half player, pretty sure the majority of his stats the last two years have come before the ASB. But I agree he's no sure thing.

Considering the giant hole the Sox had at third I think they are happy to take on the risk.

White Sox had horrible 2B and 3B production last year, with Lawrie and Frazier that should change. They have a potentially good offense if guys like LaRoache and Garcia can have bounce back years.
Reds would have been better off trading straight up with the Sox for the 3 players they sent to LA.

Good deal for all 3 teams. Frazier especially is a good pickup for the White Sox.

Frazier will never hit for average. His glove is above the plus range and his power can be off the charts when he's streaking. Runs bases well and is a plus guy with the fans. There's a lot to like. Remember, he was trying to prop up an inert offense the last 2 years and he was all over the batting order. The Reds will miss him. He also shows up to play every day. He's rarely hurt.

I just hope we don't burn Montas for a 1-year rental like we burned Heaney last year.
