And who won the head to head, and By how much ?

That just proves that your more deserving argument doesn't mean jack shit.

Yeah because the committee is going to know how the teams play in the games. Let alone a meaningless game for Florida in that particular year. :L

Then if it's clear you would have taken FSU over Florida in 2012 even though Florida beat the shit out of them one week prior to the CCG. :L

And Wisconsin won the B1G that year at 8-5 so FSU would have been the next logical choice as conference champion criteria.

How many different scenarios do we have to go through with me answering the exact same way every time for you to get my position on this?

I know your position. I just can't fathom that the committee would actually do what your suggesting in that scenario.

I'm sure they wanted to win. I guess Ohio State didn't deserve to play in the title games in 06 and 07 because they got their ass beat in by Florida and LSU respectively? Well at least according to your criteria.

Of course they did because they won their conference. That is the only criteria I have commented on here.

You seem to have a hard time following along.

So hypothetical for this year

11-1 Bam loses the Iron Bowl to undefeated and now number 1 Auburn. Bama has an SOS of 15, 5 top 25 wins.

12-1 Oregon loses the P12 title game to 12-1 and now number 3 ranked UCLA, Oregon has an SOS of 21, 5 top 25 wins

11-1 Oklahoma wins the B12 conference, their only loss is to 10-2 number 8 Baylor. Sooners have an SOS of 17 with 5 top 25 wins

Assuming Auburn, UCLA and Florida State are your top 3 who is your 4th team you choose for the playoff amongst the 3 options and WHY do you take them. ( yes I know there would be more criteria to look at potentially but just play along )

True. But they lost their bowl game which doesn't meet your other criteria.

I'd take either Bama or Oregon because I know OU wouldn't have 5 top 25 wins based on their conferences lack of top 25 teams. I'd give Oregon credit for playing MSU OOC and give Bama credit for playing WVU OOC. Honestly it's really close. I'd probably lean Bama.

What say you?

BTW, eric. Have you backed off of your stance in saying that the B1G is "By Far" worse than the ACC?

I don't have any other criteria. At least that has been brought up.

I'm just basing it off of you bringing up Fla/Louisville. The bowl game outcome doesn't determine who's more deserving. At least IMO.

I do think OSU was deserving of their title appearances despite the fact they got beat handily in both.

I never said it did. My point was that more deserving doesn't always mean better team.

Yes. The more data I receive, the more I am entitled to change my opinion. The B1G was by far the worst going into last week. The OOC wins brought them equal to if not even surpassing the ACC. Both are still very mediocre.

Well Ill point out first that I wouldnt be giving Bama anymore credit for playing WVU OOC than I Oklahoma for playing Tennessee OOC. That said ( and Ill even agree to your thought that OU probably would not have 4 top 25 wins, 3 or4 is likely the most they could have) if it were ME Id take either OU or Oregon. To me Bama would be completely out of the equation as they did not win their division. Id probably lean slightly towards Oregon because they were 12-0 going into the P12 title game and lost to a top 3 team.

I knew the B1G was bad but I didn't see anything in the ACC to say they were "By Far" better.

Using a bowl game outcome to determine who is a better team is a slippery slope though IMO.(Outside of the title game) Especially when one as highly ranked as Florida was playing a team as lowly ranked as Louisville.
