Recent years has shown that Saban needs certain assistants to win titles. Makes you wonder, is Saban winning these championships or is it his assistants that are greatly helping him?

This is an interesting comment. Which is really highlighting this considering all the other dumb posts
you have made in this thread.

Using your analogy...are we then to assume that Oregon has never had any good coaches or good
assistants? (Logic being based on the total number of NC's won by Oregon?)

Just like many laughed at the Taggart hire. Then we all saw what Taggart was capable of doing, just too bad Herbert was hurt half the season.
Yeah, we saw what no touchdown taggart was capable of. :dhd:

It's a fool who looks for logic in the chambers of the homer heart.

Anyone find it humorous that it's mainly two PNW fans that are all worried about this hire?
No one is worried about this hire in fact EVERYONE loves this hire. Wish we clone him and have every PAC school hire him.

Didn’t this happen a week ago? And haven’t you been on here posting?

You have amnesia?
:nono:
They named him acting HC for their bowl. He was officially named HC moving forward late Thursday after his last post of the day talking about Chip coming back. He didn't post for nearly 3 days until making this thread.

Took him about a day to fully get fired up for Taggart. Would seem this one took just a bit longer.

That's interesting since he was only even present for 1 of them.

Alabama is stuck with Nick Saban. You guys must be suffering there in Tuscaloosa. They obviously have struggled to make CFP without Cristobal, or even make it to the NCG without him.

What has Oregon needed to win all those NCs in football?

I mean we all know no matter who they picked OD would be doing his thing because of his blind homerism. There are no surprises there.

But you really can't claim some victory now in what is by all accounts a safe hire, not an aggressive hire when you didn't have any mention of that possibility in your coaching search thread.

What names was OD convinced were going to lead the ducks next year? I'll give you a clue here:

^^^ More than a dozen posts with something about Kelly coming back.

Also he had a couple of posts talking about Sumlin and one or two talking about Wilcox. THAT'S IT.

All 3 for sure higher name candidates.

His only mention of Crisco was keeping him on as OC. ZerO about his potential as a killer HC. NOthing. NOt One wOrd about it.

I'd bet anything his first reaction wasn't to jump up and down. It took at least a day of reassurance and self hyping to start buying into the bullshit he's trying desperately to sell now.

After Frost had already been hired at Nebraska...

Wouldn't surprise me the least bit if Frost suddenly turned an eye out West. I am sure the Oregon gig appeals to him more then the pressures of being in Nebraska.

You do realize he was the head coach at FIU and that is why his overall record was so bad. It was FIU, they didn't have a weight room and they didn't have buses. Dude took them to bowl games!
We tried saying the same thing about Riley and Oregon St, he was only .500 coach because it was Oregon St. yet 19-19 in 3 years suggests he is exactly what his record was/is forever will be. Denial is a horrible place to be.

Kind of irrelevant IMO given that Oregon is a stepping stone job. If Cristobal has success, he'll be off to greener pastures within 3 years. If not, he'll be an assistant somewhere. Either way, no natties on a platter, no Pac titles. Pretty much the same thing as Mississippi State's hire of Joe Moorhead(who was a far better hire FTR)

Smart bet is on the latter BTW.

Sorry teacher.

BTW, you guys STOKED FOR MARIO CRISTOBALS FIRST GAME AS DUCKS HEAD COACH will be against you guys? Funny, Chips first head coaching game as Ducks coach was vs Boise. He ended up doing well at Oregon.
Here's to the same result. :suds:
