It looks like I’m in the minority here, but I really like the Sewald trade, although I’m pretty sad to see him go. Of course if that’s the only move we make that’ll be a big mistake imo. We need to do more and preferably buying type moves.

It's amazing..how lucky..the mariners got right.
Here getting .what they needed..so far.
In
Canzone .
Bliss
And Rojas..
I know it's yet to be seen..
But so far..it is what .they where .looking.for..

Cuz hereto kjerstad .prob not available(AAA..
Proto.RF...baltimore..
Or Colton cowser..same cF)…
But I would say .a cf .or RF..would be good.
R/R .with a trade.

And some bull pen guys.to Finnish it off..

I can see the move I thought Sewald was a solid player but considering he was a nobody coming from the Mets and we turned him into a INF prospect and depth at INF and OF at the major league level was not a bad turn. I doubt we were going to extend him at age 35 when he was due to be a free agent.

he was minimum acceptable for an MLB closer / relief

I always thought he had a below avg slider ( it was very hittable and he floated it across the plate many times and it was HIT )
He spotted his fastball farely well, that was clearly his best pitch ( odd arm angle confused some batters )

one of the things diputzo got right. i just wish somebody who actually knew what they were doing could handle trade deals. he just gets worked over by gm's who do.
What, you don't want a roster of 26th men? But, but, but they all play several positions.

i'm a long way from using the word "like" for it after reading the bleacher report notes on it. sewald in the top 15% for whiff rate top 2% for hard hit rate. the two we got are no 19 and 29 in arizona's minor league system, and i guarantee idiot diputzo was enamored with their ops numbers without considering that they're from 2 of the most hitter friendly ballparks in the minor league. odds of them being dogshit are pretty high.

they get sewald through 2024 too. if it were just a loaner for this season, i'd attach the word "like" to it. but i can't go that far right now. i don't care if it's the best offer diputzo could find.
