I don't think they're unlucky. They're just hitting the ball hard into some shifts.

I've noticed this watching Justin Smoak hit and have also heard it mentioned on 710 kiro. He hits the ball hard a lot and has been unlucky either having an outfielder make an incredible run to catch the ball or have it hit right at a defender.

Of those 13 hard hit balls to the outfield, if only half of those land as hits he'd be hitting .275

All of a sudden we're looking at Smoak who is on pace for 24 hrs and 108 rbi with his .275 avg and he's no longer a problem

They're statistically one of the worst offensive teams in nearly ever sabr metric.

They suck because they suck, not because of "luck".
