Kuma pitching the way we've come to expect. I'm not going to say anything else because every time I do things just go to shit.

Very nice to see him pitch the way he did tonight after his last time out.

Seager with an abysmal BA (that will change) and OPS+ (that will also change) and still has 17 RBI in 25 games.

What a great kid.

Potential double whammy of awesomeness tonight if we beat Gray and Kuma gets his 1st win of the season.

A's are the team I dislike the least in our own division, but this is still pretty great.

What a great kid.

Which is why I never really look into those... unless of course you have a track record of being horrific at the plate. What Seager is lacking in the BA and OPS department this season he makes them when it really matters with runners on and in scoring position.

Prior to today's game in:
13 AB he's batting .231 with a 1.055 OPS with 2HR and 7 RBI's with runners in scoring position with 2 outs.
21 AB he's batting .185 with a .722 OPS with 2 HR and 11 RB's with runners in scoring position.

Great coaching by Servais in identifying where Seager can be most productive as well.

Batting 5th behind Cano and Cruz in 49 AB he's batting .102 with an abysmal .415 OPS. 2 HR 4 RBI's
Batting 6th: 31 AB, .226 BA, .927 OPS with 3 HR and 8 RBI.

Safe to say he's more comfortable in the 6th slot.

Track record shows Seager is good and will improve. Don't look too much into his overall BA... doesn't tell the whole picture.

Dismissing any stat is reductive.

Everything tends to even out over the course of a season when it comes to RISP. It's an anomaly for a player to have high numbers of RBI with a low BA or OPS+.

My point was that Seager is on track to have a good year because those stats (and others) have nowhere to go but up, and he's productive in spite of them being low. I don't think I was being ambiguous, but I guess maybe I was.

Jesus, Lee is slow as molasses...sorry, that's that play that I saw right as I was about to post this.

As far as this effort goes, A+. Cano's BA is going up, Seager's breaking out of yet another ridiculous april slump, and the pitching is rolling. They need to rack up the wins and get comfortably above .500 to set themselves up for a post-season run.

Actually, I was agreeing with everything you said and was just expanding on it a bit further for other to see. People tend to read too much into BA's and ignored the ones. I got your point perfectly, so I wasn't calling you out directly. :)
