You can bet on 1 OU win. Every year the team "that doesn't belong" wins at least 1

Yep...and this year it could be several of the "undeserving" that win a game or two. And several "deserving" ones get exposed in the first round.

Who else thinks the committee did a pretty good job with seeding this year?

I don't see anybody grossly underseeded or overseeded.

TCU I think is the most overseeded team. Probably should have been on that 8/9 line.

Providence I think is underseeded. Should have been like an 8.

Arizona should have been a 3. UK a 4.
Agreed on that last line for sure. Two of the toughest teams in the country. SEC champ and PAC12 champ. Put them in the second round against each other.

I am guessing if Virginia knew how the seeding would be done before their game, they would have thrown the ACC championship

Yeah that doesn't help. Very good ACC champ right next to them. Not sure what they were thinking there.

"Penn is the highest ranked 16 seed via KenPom in 6 years"

Oh, joy...

The Wichita/Omaha slate is very nice.

What's the new format?

They don't reveal the brackets anymore. Instead, they announce the autobids first (useless. Everyone knows they are in). Then they announce the at large bids in alphabetical order. Then finally, they announce the match ups in the brackets. It totally kills any drama involved in the show. The whole fun of the reveal is if you're a bubble team, you're sitting on the edge of your seat as they go from region to region hoping your name will pop up. Now, say if you're ND, as soon as they get to the letter O, its over. And if you're already in (like say Duke or UNC), you have to wait something like 30 minutes before you ever get to see who you play.

In round one, (the field of 64), I have the following upsets:
Davidson over Kentucky
Loyola-Chicago over Miami
San Diego State over Houston
Butler over Arkansas
New Mexico State over Clemson
Charleston over Auburn

In the field of 32, I have NC State upsetting Kansas and going to the Elite 8 by beating New Mexico State and then losing to Michigan State.

Trophies on top of trophies, conference titles, FINAL FOUR predictions in some brackets...

Cincinnati isn't used to all of these eyeballs at once. It's been awhile :gaah:

Blessed to still be alive to see this.

I'm ready tho. I don't even feel like saying anything else. I'm just ready for the tournament to start.

sorry dude. I know how you must feel.
ASU did beat UCLA and USC handidly.
Here is a passage from the local news. This might not have helped USC chances. I said "might"
"Yes, the FBI-ensnared bubble teams were all left out too. Many observers were quick to point out that the three teams on the bubble who have been implicated in the FBI’s investigation in recruiting—USC, Louisville, and Oklahoma State—all failed to receive invites. (The latter two were not even among the first four out.) None of those exclusions are eyebrow-raising by the typical standards of such things, but hey, narratives are fun."

BPI
S 2 5 15 20 42
E 1 4 11 12 28
MW 8 3 6 19 36
W 13 7 14 9 43

RPI
S 1 7 10 15 33
E 2 8 31 19 60
MW 6 5 12 14 37
W 3 4 11 22 40

With the sums at the end. Interesting that according to BPI the east is the strongest, but according to RPI its by far the weakest.

Ken Pom was actually pretty balanced.

Some predictions from the usual suspects...

Virginia picked to win NCAA tournament in 5 of 22 expert brackets

ESPN went heavy on Sparty, but Duke got some love in other circles.

I didn't check every bracket in detail, but I don't think a single person had Xavier getting past Gonzaga if they got that far. I think even the Michigan fans on here just assumed they'd be playing Gonzaga if they got to the Elite 8. I personally think the Zags are a little overrated this year.

We tore them a new asshole earlier in the season, their defense is iffy.
