That was a great team with Thompson and BurlesonCorrect. UCLA beat NC St 84-66. NC St paid them back in the Final Four 80-77 in 2OT...beat Marquette in the Championship, ending on a 28-game winning streak.

The year before, Indiana went 31-1, only losing to Kentucky by two in the Regional Final. Their best player, Scott May, had broke his arm a ouple week before. If not for that, the Hoosiers might have had back to back undefeateds.Good for them. A very deserving team. Its hard to win every game but they did it. I think Indiana did it in 1976 if I remember correctly
The question is, where does this UConn team rank among the greatest teams ever? To me, they are up with 1982 UNC (Sam Perkins, James Worthy, some Jordan fellow), the back to back Duke (Laettner, Hill, Hurley), the 2012 Kentucky (Anthony Davis and eight other future NBA players). Huskiess were a machine from November to tonight
I was 10 when the last great UCLA team played, the 1973 Walton/Wilkes/Farmer team. Tough to judge a team at that age. And I was just 13 for the undefeated Indiana of Quinn Buckner/Kent Benson/Scott MayOh man. No love for UCLA?
