It will be interesting because Boeheim, K and Roy could all conceivably retire within the next 5 years. That will start a domino effect much like what happened at the end of the 2003 season with Roy leaving to go to UNC, Self going to Kansas, and Weber going to Illinois.

It is going to be an interesting w/ UNC. UNC likes to keep it in the family, but there just isn't a surefire coaching prospect in the UNC basketball family like there was in 2000 and 2003. Even in 2000, they still ended up w/ Doherty because the UNC AD double crossed Dean Smith and Larry Brown.

Yeah and there just aren't that many former players with ties ready for that job IMO. Davis has no head coaching experience, it would be quite a leap for Wes Miller to go from Greensboro to UNC. After that are there even any realistic former players who are even coaches? I think Haase is a good coach, but a couple good years at UAB and some mediocrity thus far at Stanford doesn't suggest he's quite ready yet, plus he didn't play at UNC. I'm trying to think of players from the late 80's and 90's from UNC who are even in the coaching profession and can't really think of anyone.

Watching the Utah-Saint Mary's NIT game and the announcer said it needs to go from 68 to 76 teams.....

I don't know about that.

Pretty much agreed with all of this. Haase was an assistant at UNC for about a decade (you probably know this, lol), so I'm guessing he's considered as being a member of the family. Also, played under Roy @ KU.

I do think the jump from Greensboro to UNC is a steep one. Solid chance UNC goes after someone like Billy Donovan, but we'll see. They're the biggest unknown out of UNC, Duke and Syracuse, which is amusing b/c its easily the best job out of the three, IMO.

btw, the on campus fitness center @ Wake Forest is named after Wes Miller's dad. Major reason why I think Wake would go after Wes, if DM doesn't work out.

I love UC just like my own family. My whole house is filled with Bearcat stuff. Every room.

But most won't understand.
You were celebrating the final four with three wins left to get there including a potential match against a red hot Kentucky team. You were pretty much begging to to take a beating if Cincinnati lost.

That's because Kentucky sucks this year lol. They would've blown them out. Guess we won't find out now.

Or maybe ever since Kentucky is scared to put them on schedule because of a clock issue decades ago :trash:

It seems that Kentucky makes a habit of ducking teams for various reasons.

This tournament disgusts me, it's getting to the point where I might actually have to root for Duke.

Kentucky's comically easy road to the final 4 is probably the most disgusting thing. The highest seed they can possibly play before the final 4 is the 7. Getting luck in form of upsets and favorable draws a lot of the time has a lot to do with success in the tournament.

Things are back tonight. Wonder who advances to the Elite Eight tonight and tomorrow. Loyola IL, Michigan, Kentucky, Gonzaga are my picks tonight. Kansas, Villanova, Duke and Purdue for tomorrow.
