Good post about T-man and his teams in the NFL average joe. I really think the difference for T-man is that he has Matt Forte. I think Forte is the best RB T-man has gotten to work with. I really expect him to have an outstanding year this year. If they can get Long up to speed and blocking in the secondary like he did in college and also with B-unicorn blocking then look out! Matt is really underappreciated by a lot of Bears fans but he is so versatile and has that quick acceleration he will be hard to stop. Then with AJ, BM distracting and hopefully blocking also Forte is going to give other teams nightmares. The little dump passes to Forte are going to kill a defense because Forte is so deadly when in the secondary.
Thanks for the welcome, and I changed my nickname cause I got tired of the badmamajama thing. Then I remembered a song back in the day called Running Bear. I had to go with it. But no I am not an American Indian female, lol just a goofy guy who's a Bears fan.

What I have read about Tman so far you should have called yourself passing Bear.

Someone asked about how Tice came to be? Culpepper, Moss and Carter made him look like a genius in Minny. Unfortunately time showed the rest of the NFL that he couldn't work with less talent.

how the hell did Matt Forte not crack NFL Networks Top 100? Really? I think Ray Rice was way the F up there too!? I know that's a few weeks past, but that shit's ridiculous.

Because Forte was in Lovies offense. He will shine now. Best all around back in football. Not best runner.

This is what makes the Long pick a little more confusing considering that Rhodes and Trufant were still available. The 2014 draft has Roby/Purifo/Ekpre-Olomu/Clinton-Dix/Verret/Everett as possible 1st round talent and this list of poissible FA's. I'll put my faith in them for now.
O-line was our most desperate need. So I won't argue the Long pick, If he plays anything like his old man & brother, we'll love the pick .
Hearing Phil mention CB as 1 of the deep positions in the draft. I would have bet he'd take 1 somewhere. Glad I didn't make that bet. Maybe we pick up a cap casualty ( though we don't have much cap space to play with) or a cut. I do believe they're bringing 1 of the UDFA CBs to camp, But we still need a body or 2 there.

I agree , Though from what I saw from Garner , he was no slouch. And I followed Wheatley all through college, and expected more from him in the pros.
I don't think Forte is underappreciated by Bear fans ( pay the man). He was just under utilized by Tice.
Still like your old name . But will respect running bear.

You're probalby talking about my reference to how he got the rep as a great O-line coach. And he didn't show it in Chicago. I'm still wondering how he got that rep. Checked wikipedia , and found he only coached the O-line in Minny for 4 years before becoming the HC. In Jacksonville he was an assitant HC & Offensive coach ( OC ? ), read he also coached the TEs in Jacksonville. I think the media blew this guy up big time. He's still jobless. So much for the rep.

Believe he had Robert Smith also , in Minny. He'd make any running game look good.

Welcome aboard, guys. :suds:

Something to keep in mind, please don't use the Report Posts function to bring disagreements to our attention. When you use that, it sends a PM and email to every moderator on the board and we come running. So when it's misused, it quickly becomes frustrating. The Report feature is for obvious spam and clearly inappropriate content.

All nice comments.

True, Garner was better than the other backs Trestman had to work with, but by 2009 in Oakland Garner was 29, which is not a good age to be a feature back.

The offense has plenty of weapons now. O-line, theoretically, should be improved, and to me it was the weakest link last year.

They've gotta protect, and Jay's gotta get rid of it quicker, which also means a receiver not named Brandon Marshall needs to step up theiir game. Hopefully Martellus Bennett can be the TE we've lacked, but Alshon Jeffrey needs to make a big step this year, for the O, to really click, IMO.

Yeah but T-man had him in 2002 , and he looked pretty dang good. I'm just surprised any starting RB last more than 5 yrs in the NFL.

But T-man had him in 2002. Just wondering what's your point?
