*My hunch is every state but Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan will be going for Kentucky since people love their brackets and the heavy plurality picked Kentucky. If not, I think many will root for us because they like the underestimated (White guy) recruits. I highly doubt that very many states would go for Duke. They have a dedicated fanbase that I'm sure likes them on Facebook, but all the neutral parties hate Duke.

Well, you're simply wrong about Duke. Yeah a lot of fans hate Duke, but they have a huge following too. Look at collegiate merchandising. Duke generally rates as one of the top 2 or 3 "basketball dominant" schools. Since CFB is way more popular, it influences the lists a lot, but trust me, lots of random Duke fans out there.

Also I don't think the brackets are influenced by pools as much as you think. I don't know anybody that's going to "like" a team on FB simply because it helps their bracket. They might be cheering for them, but I doubt they'd go to the trouble to find their bracket winner, and like them. And since so many people have UK winning it all, it's doubtful that they'd be pulling for UK to win. Most people need upsets at this point to make any difference.

If 5 of us have UK winning it all, and I'm in the lead right now, then pulling for UK doesn't do any good for the other 4 people.

Wisconsin might pull in some of the casual fans, but I'm not sure they have much of a following outside of the locals and their alum (And I know several people in Wisconsin that couldn't care less about the Badgers, despite being big sports fans)

Idk about the credibility of this map.

Seeing as sportsnation or something had one just the other day and the only two states who didn't choose wisconsin over UK were Minny(duh) and Illinois(I believe).

Don't see why Minnesota would be one of the only Wisco supporters. Other way around makes way more sense.
