How'd Miles Sanders do?

Who's their leading rusher so far this season?

Of course you don't need to answer those, as I obviously know already.

MS: 54 for 193 yds, 0 TDs, 3.6 avg

JH: 53 for 248 yds, 4 TDs, 4.7 avg

Pederson is no dummy. Howard will get more and more carries.
:agree:

Useless debate for sure, but I will say this...Howard excelled his first three years here, 2 of which, he was ALL we had. Very arguable that our line today, is better than it was then.

Dude ain't pretty, but he's durable af, and just digs dirt.

This is pretty simple.

Who here would rather have Jordan Howard instead of Miles Sanders? Who here would rather have Jordan Howard or David Montgomery?

Idiots stand up.

Right now? Looks like Doug Pederson, for one.

The funny thing, is it's becoming apparent to Doug Pederson, that Howard is the primary back, and Sanders is the rookie that needs to develop. Howard has steadily been getting more and more carries, and that will continue.

He's a bruiser, with good vision, patience and feet. Nothing fancy, but production.

Montgomery will be a special back, IMO, don't get me wrong, but Howard is stud in his own right. His durability, coupled with proven production is all I really want in a Bears back.

I think Montgomery has shown who he is the last few weeks. I think he is every bit as good as Howard. I think dealing howard had more to do with not having to pay him. He’s going to have a tricky contract. He’s going to want something expensive and I’m just not sure we could afford paying him a lot.

I agree completely.

I love what Montgomery brings to the table and I think Nagy is fuck-retarded in that he seemingly has gone out of his way to not feature him until the last two weeks.

I like Howard too. He is a bruiser, that just produces.

I do hope the Bears have a better plan than re-drafting a RB every three years tho, just to get out of paying them.

And it's still arguable that it was somewhat of a wasted pick in a draft with limited picks and with a productive RB that still had a year left under contract.

Mainly, it's a bump for all the Howard haters to explain away his success. Better o-line and offense, better coach...better team...wide open holes that anyone could run thru....I know there's more excuses from a few here.

Wronggg. What else is new.

Montgomery is better than Howard.

Dealing Howard had NOTHING to do with money. NOTHING. It had everything to do with Howard just not fitting well into Nagy's system and basically understanding from the coaching staff that Howard is abysmally average and nothing special. And he won't be expensive come free agent time. Nor would he be a high demand free agent.

It's really hard for me to say that having Jordan Howard here would change anything. Really a moot point. He's a solid 1st/2nd down back who has to be subbed out on passing downs. I can't imagine where that makes this offense competitive. Even in his best season; we were 3-13. 5-11 in his second best. Arguably the worst offense in football each season.

So long as there are 8 guys around the LOS on most running downs begging Trubisky to throw. It's going to be really tough sledding trying to get it going on the ground. Defense's love when Trubisky drops back to pass and they fight hard to keep that happening.

This week we get another team who struggles against the run in Detroit. Hopefully we can do the same positive things we did vs LAC. Just without the glaring mistakes that gave away the game.

Hey... it's not like we have a first round pick to tank for.

Montgomery is really inching closer towards Howard's production and the amount of tacklers he has to fight off in order to do so makes it really, really impressive.

Montgomery:

129 rushes
466 yards
5 TD's

18 receptions
133 yards

599 total yards
4.1 yards per touch

Howard:

119 rushes
525 yards
6 TD's

10 receptions
69 yards
1 TD

594 total yards
4.6 yards per touch

This thread was always dumb.

Oh, and RB's don't really matter :)

Think how good those stats would be if we didn't wait until week 7 to give him the goddamned ball.
