I just find it curious that the teams are completely in the dark on the investigation. The players, other than ARod, say no comment and their teams know nothing.

It seems to me something bigger is at hand. Braun was just the icing on the cake. We are about to see what was underneath.

What do you think is happening?

Martin LF
Andrus SS
Kinsler 2B
Beltre 3B
Piezynski DH
Cruz RF
Baker 1B
Soto C
Gentry CF
Holland on the mound.

Two lefties ... thought it might be Beltre and AJ ... but Martin and AJ works. Glad Baker is in the lineup too. This might be a very interesting evening after last night's affair.

Kinda ironic having CJ pitching to AJ after his HR trot last night. Ya think CJ will come inside to him? Has to be careful ... a LHP 4-seam to a LH batter can go a long way if it just a smidgen too close to the plate.

At least baker is in the lineup, and no Murphy. AJ needs to switch spots with baker.

I'm willing to bet we will see Murphy come in the game tonight unfortunately.

That would be awesome. CJ tries to throw inside and AJ drops one in our bullpen.

You can bet at the very first opportunity he will.

I think the team FOs are not completely blind. I am sure the owners get some info in order to make decisions at the deadline. Maybe that is why JD has opened up who he will consider trading. He might 'know' Cruz is going to get some punishment and if he can make a move now instead of off season it makes sense.

And if Detroit knew Peralta's going down as well, they would need a ss stat. I haven't heard any rumors there unless that is where the Andrus talk is coming from. :noidea:

Have to remember that Bud works for the teams ... and if they had been involved in the process they might wonder what the heck they hired a commissioner for if they have to be in the middle of it now.

Selig has to be very careful how to proceed on this because if he mishandles it ... it affects the game and the game's future. As Rev said ... MLB sat around and didn't act and the US Senate got involved. You don't think our Attorney General isn't watching this and wanting to stick his nose into it?

This is navigating a swamp without a map ... and it is getting dark.

Eric Holder is just as clueless as Selig...Actually scratch that. He is more clueless than Selig.

All I know is if Cruz does get a suspension and doesn't appeal it, we are up sh@t creek. Even if they found a way to trade for someone, it doesn't appear that anyone that anyone is available that could even hold a candle to his production. There would still be a chance, teams with worse offenses have gotten hot, or hot enough, at the right time (2010 Giants) but these guys haven't given us that much for such expectations.

We've been saying if Cruz goes down, so do we. I just don't appreciate MLB taking their sweet ass time with the investigation so we can't make any moves in response.

I think Detroit given their pitching and offense (even without Peralta) can find someone to stick at SS. I think the A's would be more than happy to give Lowrie for some prospects.

It's a double-penalty. You lose the player and you can't do anything about it because the trade deadline has passed.

The fact that any of our tax dollars get spent on these investigations is appalling

Wholeheartedly agree. The only reason they did, is because Selig sat on his hands. This goes back to his inept leadership.
