- Chip Kelly News Conference at noon.
- Bradford and other talking to press after practice.
- Reporters get to watch practice for first time.

What I expect the reporters to comment on.
- Who is lining up with the first team.
- Starting Corner (Rowe?, Thurmond?, Carroll?)
- Starting Safety (Wolf?, Watkins?)
- Starting WR (Matthews?, Cooper?, Agholor?, Huff?, Austin?)
- Who is filling Mathis's shoes? (Tobin?, Gardner?)
- ILB. Is Ryans out there?
- Can Tebow throw the ball?

If some reporter asks "when are you expecting mathis back?" instead of something like "what do you think of the guy lining up at LG today and the depth behind him?" someone should shoot that reporter on the spot.

I think I heard that Thurmond is lining up at Safety. Makes sense if they really like the guy. They are paying him $3M, so I think he probably has the lead chance at being the starting Safety. With Carroll at Corner, and Rowe competing, it gives them the best chance of having Rowe and Thurmond both starting, which seems like its probably the plan.

Wolf is evidently already injured. This guy doesn't seem to have an NFL body.

Interesting that Barbre is evidently doing LG and they have "lots of guys" going RG. Seems like they are planning for Mathis not being there?

I love this roster more than I have in a long time. There is a lot to be excited about, and there is always a possible trade or the waiver wire late in camp to shore up other positions. there is a lot of potential to be excited about. just don't get injured guys! can hardly wait for the season.

Barbre at LG would seem to be a big message to Mathis. Get in camp, or you will be fighting for a spot at RG.

Tobin is your RG. Maragos is your Safety in 7-7 first team drills. Alonso and Kendricks at ILB.

Most reporters seem to think that Tebow just looks really bad in his decision making. Holds the ball way too long.

How surprising! You mean to tell me Tebow can't throw?

It's early so you are going to see vets start like Maragos and Carroll. I think Rowe will play somewhere out there by opening day. I could see Thurmond at safety sticking though he is a little too small.

Actually there were several favorable comments on his arm strength and improved throwing motion.

The issues were more of being indecisive in getting rid of the ball. I think he is accustomed to seeing bigger windows to throw into, and with the third string receivers, he lacks confidence in throwing a jump ball. He is very confident in his ability to run and buy time in the pocket, so he tends to try to give his receivers more time if he doesn't like the initial throw.

I think generally coaches don't like that in practice, as he isn't throwing to the planned receiver on time as the play is drawn up. The OL doesn't like it as it requires them to block longer as well. However, in a real game situation, this often plays out better...kind of resorts to alot of playground sort of ball, where Tebow excels. It explains why Tebow has a rep as a poor practice player.

But at the end of the day, he needs to be able to prove he can execute plays as drawn up more consistently if he wants to be employed. I don't know if Chip wants alot of these extended playground plays going on in a game? He would rather see a short pass or incompletion as designed and move quickly on to the next rep.

Its early on though, and if he really is there with his throwing (big question mark?), and all he really needs to do is work the mental side of how to execute this offense, it seems like that is a doable hurdle.

I saw Gary Cobb tweeted that he made a good throw to a TE over the middle. But Jeff McLane of the Inquirer tweeted that all his throws were to short receivers and he checked down all the time. Not exactly throwing it downfield.

Tebow Sucks! Every report I heard said he held the ball forever, and he lacks accuracy, and one report said he throws it like a loaf of bread.

Chip press conference was one for the ages! Dude rocks!

Yeah it seems even among the reporters its hard to get an impartial opinion. McLane seems obviously to be hater and I thought the nj.com guy was a little optimistic. The only consensus I saw was that he was holding the ball too long. He evidently looked really good at times and really, really bad at others. It all depends on what you focus on.
