I mean this is exactly it. By going for the big contract instead of staying in Denver he acknowledged it was all business. Now he's dealing with the business part of being an NFL player.

No, there is nothing about this that is a win for Houston.

"They got out of that contract."

Sorry. But the fact that they gave Asswiper that contract to begin with still makes this a fail, no matter how anyone tries to spin it.

This is not a win for the Texans.

This is damage control....at best.

I mean you could spin it that way if it was different regime- but dang people are letting the Texans off the hook here.

 Interesting about Cutler......

But do you bring in a guy that has been rumored to be a cancer in the locker room.
I mean you are trying to change the culture in Cleveland, Cutler could ruin that approach.

Then again if you do bring him in, it is a better upgrade then waiting to see if Osweiler get's his head on straight.....

I hear ya on the attitude about Cutler and it's a factor.

Hue Jackson probably has 2 yrs ('17 & '18 seasons) to really get this team going in the right direction in the win column.

In spite of his contract in HOU, Osweiler with 21 starts is really just learning the position at this level. Is he ready to deliver this coming season? Certainly better than 1 win, but imo, no...'18? maybe. The risk imo with Os or Cutler...if you don't get significant improvement, you're on the hotseat for sure in '18. Cutler probably gives you a better chance to win...still invest in a QB to groom because you know Cutler is not the long term guy.

Not saying I like Cutler or would really go that route...just making a case.

Yeah clearly they weren't going to give the guy the chance .
Makes no sense to give him all that money and expect him to be the "savior of the franchise"
Then to give away draft picks along with him to Cleveland to take him out of there, should raise a huge red flag to the owner, " does he have the right people at the helm?"

I think the Texans got duped by the Broncos a bit. Broncos had such a good team and they seemed all in on Osweiler so they figured there must have been a good reason. Elway was on fire at the time so they saw something that wasnt there.

I think now it has to be one of the worst contracts of all time

And also the shitty QB play from the previous three years in Houston.

Hell, even I was thinking...

we made it to the playoffs with freakin' Brian Hoyer. Surely. Osweiler would be an improvement over Brian Hoyer.....

And another thing people who don't really pay attention to the Texans (which is about 95% of NFL fans) need to realize.....

This move guarantees that for the fifth straight season, the Texans will start with a brand new quarterback.

Five!

Straight!

Seasons!

The Texans quarterback position is an even bigger dumpster fire than you thought.

Agreed, but I do give them credit for owning their mistake now and taking steps to move on rather than let the stink linger.

It's not that bad of a contract. There is no money guaranteed beyond 2017. Bad talent judgement for sure, but at least the guaranteed money was only for 2 years.

So, who wants to throw multiple draft picks at Garoppolo now?

Bill: Brock, common in and have a seat son.

Brock: What's up coach?

Bill: We've traded you to the browns.

Brock: ......

Brock lunges at Bill attempting to poke his eyes out while letting out a loud screech

Bill begins to pummel his face in as assistants here the screech and enter the office seeing the coach and restrain him

Texans just won the AFC South with Bork Asswiper. They could damn sure win it with Jay Cutler!

I'd rather take my chances with Romo's health than Jay Cutler's!

Based on what? In the little time we have seen him, he lit it up.

Are you suggesting he won't look the same outside the Pats system? Or it's too small a sample? I'm just curious.
