So what will you give me for the Lions defense in our dynasty league?

The article is a little vague, but we are better than most of the numbnutzs on this site would lead you to believe.

My guess is they have Levy, Quin, and Ziggy on that list in addition to CJ, Tate. Not sure who the 6th and 7th would be though. Maybe Stafford or Warford or Tulloch.

7. Detroit Lions

2014 Ranking: 11

Top five players: Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, Glover Quin, Ezekiel Ansah,Larry Warford

Starters who should be upgraded: Brandon Pettigrew, Travis Swanson, Bill Bentley, Jason Jones

Analysis: The Lions have done a really good job of upgrading their roster the past few seasons. Elite talents like Johnson remain, but they have been augmented by a steady influx of talent on both sides of the ball: Wide receiver Tate, free safety Quin, defensive end Ansah and guard Warford.

As a result, the Lions have a roster with few holes, even after the departure ofNdamukong Suh in free agency. They nearly won a close, controversial playoff game last season, and it won't take much of an improvement for Detroit to be a real contender in 2015.

I respect the guy for not blindly throwing Stafford in the top 5. At least he's paying attention.

Levy probably belongs in the top 5.

This is a big year for Ansah.

I wonder what he knows, or thinks he knows, about Swanson to have him on the upgrade list so early in his career.

Well, I guess the question is 'which teams' roster would you trade straight-up for the Lions' roster (sorry, Miami doesn't make the cut)'?

Seattle
Green Bay
Baltimore
Dallas
Indianapolis
New England
Arizona
St. Louis (marginal, but that defense is scary-talented)
Denver

7th for me is a bit high, but not crazy.

I'm also curious about that comment... doesn't seem to make sense on the surface...

"The Lions, according to PFF, have seven elite/high-quality players on their roster. PFF didn't specify who."

Then why can't they beat winning teams. Serious question. Coaching?

That link is just quoting a different article that you have to pay to see. I just copied in the source material.

Before this year I would say yes. Shwartz was a bafoon.

This year was 1-3. 3 of those 4 games were vs GB and NE who were just better than us last year. AZ was about the same as us. The offense blew chunks. They were good enough to score on lesser teams, but not agaisnt the best.

But not at diving. Yikes. A cannonball would have scored better.

Fat ass Louie Anderson's dead man dive was better. Think he can play DT?

I'll be honest, if Ziggy doesn't hit 10+ sacks this year. It's time to look for a new D-line coach.

You know Theo Riddick is one of them. It's the offseason after all. He's going to be an all pro.
