Let me guess, you're already looking ahead to the mass of FA signings next off season?
Not at all.

I'm looking forward to locking down long term deals with the guys we want to keep and having a money man with the knowledge and experience to layer those contracts correctly.

I'm looking forward to being in a position where the team has options in what they could do. To have the $ to overpay for the right FA player (see Miami Dolphins 2015 for a great example), to swing a trade that might really help but comes with a high value contract.

I'm looking forward to not having to explain annually why the team has no cap space and that a day of reckoning will come as a result of piss poor mgmt and can kicking. That day came in March and it shouldn't have.

I'm looking forward to having a new front office that fans can believe in that has what it takes to deliver a championship instead of just being happy if we win more games than we lose.

The Dolphins haven't had a winning season since 2008. When their new GM cam in he dumped several contracts to set up this year. Very few teams dont have cap problems. The Bucs and Raiders also had a bunch of space...and they suck.

Wait White, did I read you want to overpay someone, yet youre saying the management is piss poor. Why would we overpay someone?

Try to be original little man, copying me because your panties are riding up just makes you look sad.

Then, try to actually respond with statements that relate to what I actually said. The Phins record since 08 was never mentioned. I made a statement (with an example even for dumbasses like you) of what I meant on overpaying for the right FA. Happens in the NFL all the time when GM's think the player is a difference maker. I suppose you may not know that since your duties as Master of Coin in Kings Landing keeps you busy.

Bucs, Raiders, Browns, Jags, all massive bottom feeders for as long as us, but no cap problems. Barf me up the lame ass excuse I've seen before that the difference was that our players panned out. Absolute bullshit. Things like big contracts to KVB, NB, (3 restructures on them I believe), a franchise tag to Avril with no extension signed. I could go on and on. Thats the difference. And remind me the success we've had as a result of those brilliant moves?

Be happy with complete mediocrity, I don't care. Be happy with The Clown Show lying and failing at everything, be happy with that better roster we have seven years later after numerous early draft picks. I clearly have higher expectations of clowns who in the real world would have been fired from any and every performance based job they had.

Does anyone know what our record was last year?

I thought I remembered us doing pretty damn well? But that can't be if our management is so god-awful, I mean there's just no way they could possibly field an 11-5 team since that takes... oh wait... we were 11-5.

How does that work? :noidea: If we had that good of a record, but our management is such an utter joke, then what gives?

Did we get the right results using the wrong players? Must be...

I know you didnt mention the Phins record because that would take some thought as to why they were in good cap position. I don't want to rebuild I want to win. Sure we could trade Stafford and Calvin, dump all of our other higher priced guys and be in great cap shape. That sounds like a great plan. But how good would our team be?

Wait you wanted to extend Avril? Thats pretty damn stupid. That was the right move letting him walk. KVB helped our team at that time and had a nice year.

And we will raise that "Playoff Appearance 2015" banner as a result. Awesome.

Do you have to play teams with winning records in the playoffs? Cause if we do then we are fucked. Do we get to beat up on another bottom feeder schedule this year?

I know TP. I wish we would just be in a good cap position to overpay a free agent, even if that meant sucking for a couple of years and dumping Stafford and Calvin.

I mean really, if we make the playoffs again this year but are in bad cap shape, im going to be pissed off. I think some of the guys on this site could take over for Mayhew, build a championship team and leave us with plenty of cap space.

try paying attention little man, I never said I wanted to extend Avril. I never wanted him franchised either. But you superstar GM did, so he paid him $10m for one season then lost him the next for a much lesser amount. That's brilliant, but he's your favorite uncle so no doubt you supported both decisions. I will bet we restructured someone to fit in that cap hit as well. Even more brilliance.

It's stupidity like saying KVB helped that amazing me since his deal was a big part of the continuing problem with the cap. Overpaid to begin with, then restructured, then big dead $. That's awesome and know one could have seen that coming with an aging vet and pushing $ back. Your ignorance is surpassed only by your stupidity.

So would a deeper playoff run satisfy you? Or only a Super Bowl? Im pretty sure playoff success, and a Super Bowl run takes time and usually there is a build up(for all teams not New England). Only 14 different teams have won it in the past 30 years. It's not an easy task. Dethroning the Packers is not an easy task. They were 11-5 and seem to be looking good coming into next year. Do you disagree? Is the loss of Suh so huge that we will regress?

And you mention bottom feeder schedule. You do realize this effects only 2 games right? We got the Eagles at home and the Saints on the road. 2 NON PLAYOFF TEAMS! Last year we got the Giants and the Cardinals, The Cardinals were coming off a 10-6 record, improving to 11-5.
So much for that theory.

Ive never seen someone so mad about an 11-5 season...especially a Lions fan. Oy vey!

If it were 2016 and we're still talking about making the playoffs in 2014 then you'd have a point. But we're not. We made the playoffs LAST SEASON. That's something- maybe not up to your personal expectations, but still something none-the-less.

Coming off an 11-5 season and making the playoffs, I think you're being just a wee bit critical on this whole thing, but that's just me. I'll take 11-5 and a playoff birth and visible PROGRESS last season over the uncertainty of gutting everything and starting over. Doing that would be a real clown-show showing, in my opinion.

Remember, there's a lot more crappy GMs in the league every year than there is good GMs. I'm not calling Mayhew good, but, imo, the jury is still out on him. He put together a helluva team and coaching staff in 2014, so I don't see any scenario where you show him the door this year...

You seem to be viewing our playoff appearance and team success last season as the pinnacle, the peak, as far as this team will ever go.

Imo last season was simply a step in the right direction to establishing a consistent contender. Progress.

And the whole "weak schedule" thing is a big-old crutch for those trying to downplay our win total, imo.

We played who they gave us, simple as that. Just like every other team in the league does.

When they start adjusting the win total at the end of the season to compensate for strength of schedule, then I'll start being concerned about it. Otherwise there's no sense in complaining that our 11 wins are invalid because they didn't come against the right teams. That seems pretty silly to me...

Funny, I thought that winning was what I said I wanted. When we don't have a bottom feeder schedule we have sucked in The Clown Show tenure.

KVB had 8 sacks in 2011 helping us to a 10-6 record and our first playoff appearance in a loooonnnngggg time. The next year he re-structured. In 2013 we cut him and paid 5.7 in dead money. So you say you want to win, and you want to be able to overpay free agents. At that time 2011, they had to overpay KVB to get him here, and he helped us win and make the playoffs.

As far as Avril, that was that absolutely had to happen and was the right move. Avril wanted big money. They did not want to sign him to the huge deal he was demanding. They paid him the 10 and got 9.5 sacks...not bad. The knock on Avril was his run D, we replaced him with Jones(for much cheaper) who is excellent against the run, and now have a great run D. So how was that the wrong move? Should they have not franchised him or re-sign him? You never said, you just said it was wrong. To answer your question it was KVB who restructured to keep our 20 sack combo d-end tandem from our previous playoff year in place.

Signed ignorant and stupid. Lol
