Money for Anzalone was a lot more than I like...and I don't like that we've basically said we are good at LB.

It isn't over with just yet other than we're not going to see a Bobby Wagner sighting/signing.

The draft might be one avenue, but I highly doubt it at this juncture. BH surely doesn't appear to value great or even good quality LB players.

Lions address secondary with Sutton

Detroit had one of the worst defenses in the league last year, so diving into free agency to help fix that was an expected outcome. Their first move in trying to bolster that group was signing former Steelers cornerback Cameron Sutton to a three-year, $33 million deal that includes $22.5 million fully guaranteed. Sutton is coming off the best season of his career in 2022 where he totaled 15 pass breakups and three interceptions. He also held opposing quarterbacks to a 65.3 passer rating, which was a dramatic improvement from the 104.9 passer rating he surrendered in 2021. If the Lions are getting the 2022 player, he should be a big help to their secondary.

Lions sign CB Cameron Sutton (3 years, $33 million): A Grade
The Lions had a putrid defense in the first half of the 2022 season, but that changed as the year progressed. The team was much better on that side of the ball to close out the season, yet it still needed a big upgrade at cornerback. The Lions obtained that by signing Cameron Sutton.

Sutton is a great signing for Detroit at a reasonable price. He's coming off a fantastic season despite not having T.J. Watt aiding him for half the year. He'll fill a big need as a big upgrade for one of the best teams in the NFC.

BB_72: Nah. C+. BH could've gone with a younger and more proven CB who wouldn't be CB1 merely or solely by default.

Dre'mont Jones to the Seahawks mean we might have a shot at Carter. Does he have enough talent for the coaches to ignore all the red flags?

Looks like Walker restructure added void year. 5 million saving means they have to still be on yhe market for a vet somewhere.

With the Walker restructure, Lions have about $14m in cap space. Hoping they can restructure a few more guys or cut a couple. Still want them to resign Williams, Chark, Cominsky.

I think Dre'Mont was mostly played as a Big End last year for the Broncos. Prior to that he was mostly an interior defender.

Pete Carroll doesn't discriminate. Hell, he drafted Frank Clark and brought back Aldon Smith. Carroll is a HC who definitely will take a chance on a player.

Jalen Carter would fit that scheme to a tee as he'd be similar to Dre'Mont as an inside outside guy.

It'll be interesting to see what occurs to Vaitai, Romeo and maybe Charles Harris. BH can wait on the Edge guys as to what he'll do. The Vaitai situation can become very telling.

Seattle is probably hoping that either Carter or Will Anderson Jr. falls to them. I don't recall anyone other than last year's pick of Boye Mafe being an Edge player.

Depending on the structure of Anzelone Lions are looking at anywhere from 20 to 14 million in cap right now. I don't know which FA they may be targeting, but at this point cutting Vaitai/Okwara/Harris is not a need like we had assumed.

I get the feeling Lions are out of the bigger FA market at this point, but I would LOVE if they also signed Bradberry. Turn CB into a strength

I think Anderson to Cardinals at 3 is almost a guarantee at this point...pending trade. I am just hoping with Jones Seahawks decide they would rather take Wilson over Carter.
