I've never even heard of that guy.
Lions signed DT Corvey Irvin, formerly of the Cowboys.
Irvin was released by the Cowboys last week. Irvin appeared in only six games last season, notching three tackles. Two months shy of his 29th birthday, Irvin will need an impressive camp to crack the 53-man roster.
Never heard of this dude either.
Cortland Finnegan just got released.
Titus young, ryan broyles..lets not waste another pick hoping we find a complement to CJ.
The lesson there is 'no more head cases or serious college injury rolls of the dice' not 'never draft a WR high again'.
I never wanted to draft a high wide receiver in the first place! Sober maybe. Anyhow I never said never, because cliche. I will say dont waste a high pick in this draft though due to multiple reasons
Detroit Lions Final Free Agency Outlook and Predictions | Bleacher Report
Three former Caldwell underlings all fit roles that Detroit needs:
Since releasing starter Louis Delmas, the Lions have a big hole at safety. It makes sense to connect players with familiarity to Caldwell's style and system.
- safety Antoine Bethea
- wide receiver Jacoby Jones
- safety James Ihedigbo
Ihedigbo is coming off his best season, his first as a starter in Baltimore. Pro Football Focus (subscription required) graded the 30-year old as the 16th-best safety in the NFL in 2013. It's worth noting that new Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin was Ihedigbo's position coach in Baltimore.
Jones danced his way to hero status in Baltimore's Super Bowl season, and his deep speed is something the Lions covet across from Calvin Johnson. He's also an accomplished kick returner, which adds to his allure.
Players like James Jones, Emmanuel Sanders and Hakeem Nicks will all draw many suitors.
Expect the Lions to pounce hard on one of these players.
Each offers something a little unique and inherently useful for Detroit.

If Pettigrew doesn't have a new contract in Detroit within the first few hours of free agency, he will likely not be back with the Lions next season.

Sounds too good to be true. It would be a home run to land either of these guys.
