I don't see us using a top 3 pick on a QB. Assuming the top 9 guys (Bridgewater, Manziel, Bortles, Carr, McCarron, Savage, Mettenberger, Murray, Garoppolo), that all seem to be getting a lot of talk from a bunch of teams are gone when we look QB, who do you see as either our most likely pick, or who you would like us to pick. UDFA are fine too. If you think it's one of the 9 listed, leave it in another thread as we've already spoken about them. Just looking for opinions on the less spoken of group.

I don't see QB in this draft unless it's a 7th round camp body with an outside shot at the practice squad.

If Manziel falls I think Jerrah is going to draft him. It would not surprise me if Je.rrah trades up for Manziel. I am basing this on how Jerrah has drafted in the past. This makes sense to me because Jerrah loves attention. If he is able to control himself then I think Murray and Garrappolo is high on the board. I would not mind Mccarron or Murray in the 4th

Brock Jensen

North Dakota State

6' 3" 225# 40-yard dash times of 4.77 and 4.70 with a 34-inch vertical, a 9-foot-2 broad jump, a shuttle run of 4.35 and a three-cone drill at 7.06.

Kid is good they also have a tackle that I would love the boys to draft in the 5-7 round if he is there

I misunderstood the thread. The wyoming and smu qbs are possible late round options

Nothing before the 4th round, 5th round would be better to even start thinking a QB. If McCarron is there in the 5th I take him no question, Murray as well. OTherwise, use one of the 7th on someone you would normally target in UDFA land.

This has been my feeling too. And after viewing the list of official visits (no draftable QBs) I think the Cowboys have already made their decision. I think there is only a slim chance they draft one at all and about .000001% chance they take one in the first.

I think it would be dumb to not use at least one of our 7th rounders on a QB unless we really don't like anyone at all. I have no idea which guy I would target, which is kind of why I brought this up.

well I like the kid from NDS and think with some seasoning he could do well. He knows how to win and has 3 FCS level National championships. I know he gave K-State fits in their opening loss to NDS they beat the big school plenty well TY.

But what dO I know I thought Henson could be a QB and Tyson Thompson could play RB pretty well

Quote from Stephen:

"There's not anything I can say about it," Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told KRLD-FM (via The Dallas Morning News) on Tuesday. "We haven't quite gotten into sorting out the quarterbacks yet, that will come, in terms of finalizing our board."

If this is true, it's a little late in the game to be sorting through QB's to put them in order for the big board. That part seems more like double-talk than anything. On one hand, you could take it at face value like we are not very interested in the QBs. On another hand, it makes it seem like we are hiding our cards by being aloof.
Truth is our big board is about 99% set (as is each teams), if any player with a good grade somehow slips, we will entertain it. Just don't count on taking a chance on a QB in the first round. While I would welcome some young blood at that position, I don't believe they have been active enough checking out this year's QBs.

I agree with Pday & others.
If we take one that wasnt listed already it will be 7th round Flyer or UDFA.
Probably from some small school most hasnt heard of with good stats. Jerry likes to try & find the diamond in the rough that no one is paying attention too.

He said it about another position also, so I wrote it off as they were just keeping their opinions close to the vest. I did this because I can't bring myself to think that the team with about a week to go in this process still hasn't put together the majority of their draft board. I refuse to let that be an option in my head even though I realize it is still possible with this team. Maybe King Jerry hasn't gotten around to blessing it yet. You know...standing in front of the board and moving a couple of names around for no other reson than to pretend to put his stamp of approval on it and probably asking things like 'Who is this Clinton-Dix kid? That's a funny name HaHa Dix"...and then breaking into a big drunken belly laugh...

All evidence is point towards the cowboys not drafting a qb.

Im with Eastbay- Connor Shaw . He just fits all that Parcells jargon about so many starts . He is also a winner.

I'll pass on Shaw even as a UFA. Id look at either James Franklin or Casey Pachall.
