I guess I don't understand, how does he think he's winning? When next season starts he'll be a year older, what team is gonna give a 27 year old back a giant contract, he's destroyed any legacy he was gonna have, the fucker is dead to me, I can't imagine how y'all feel. Meanwhile Conner is on pace to have just as good a year as Bell ever had, he's a PA kid and obviously isn't the POS Bell is!

Body preservation is the only thing that he can hang his hat on now. I'm honestly shocked that he didn't fire his agent because Bell looks like a jackass now. Even if it was a viable gamble to hold out and hope for the contract or trade, he still looks like a gigantic flaming douche right now.

Steelers proved they don't need him. But Steeler Nation should all consider ourselves very fortunate that Bell didn't sign their offer this past offseason.

He's gotta be there. Why it hasn't been announced yet is strange. Maybe the Steelers PR is just trying to figure out how to handle it? Or the Steelers are rescinding the tag and shits about to get crazy.

ok, someone is going to need to explain something to me because now i'm confused ....

all along, the media had been saying Bell needed to report by a certain date to get credit for this season. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to go to free agency in the off-season.

now, everyone is saying Bell shouldn't report at all and risk injury because he's going to get his FA contract in the off-season?

wtf is going on?

Both are correct. I'm not sure if I understand it completely but here's my understanding of it:

Bell needs to report before their week 10 game THIS THURSDAY in order to sign & collect the remainder of the franchise tag for this season which is roughly $6.8mil. If he doesn't, then the tag is void and the Steelers have the option to place the tag on him AGAIN for the exact same price. Or not but the Steelers still hold the cards in that situation. Reporting now gives him more power in the offseason. I think the people saying he shouldn't report are saying that because the remainder of the contract is less in comparison to what he has already voided from holding out (~$8mil). And his FA contract in the offseason will exceed those amounts anyways with higher guarantees.

I don't know about FA in the off-season, I'm just hoping for an end-game where he doesn't play another game in the NFL.
