If at the end of the day his average YPC is still greater than 3.5-4yds then I'm happy. He's averaging more yards per carry than Leonard Fournette, Alex Collins, David Johnson, Jordan Howard, Derrick Henry and Carlos Hyde (to name a few). He's doing just fine. Once the entire offense finds a better balance he'll start raking in the yards once again.

Yes, the problems are rather wide ranging when you look at this team, on both sides of the ball.

Leonard Fournette has only played in 2 games so that's not a fair comparison.

If you are happy with his production then more power to you. I know he's capable of more, as we've seen it against the Browns, and I am not okay with our starting running back averaging 2 ypc in a game, no matter how many times he gets the ball. What he's currently doing isn't good enough for me as a fan. Hasn't scored a rushing TD in two games and only 6 of his last 27 rushes, which goes back to the 3rd quarter of the Chiefs game, have been for more than 5 yards. That's 22% of his last 27 rushes. I can't comprehend how this is acceptable production to you guys.

We are comparing averages, so yes Fournette is still a fair comparison even if he's only played half the games.

We all know Conner is capable of more. I see your point though. He's touching the ball roughly 15 times per game. Giving it to him an extra 5 times isn't going to make a huge difference in his output. IMO the problem is the way Fichtner is calling the plays and the O-line as a whole isn't playing as well this year. There's no balance or tempo. He's letting the defenses dictate his plays and it should be the opposite.

Taking away his long rushes are only taking away 6 rushing attempts. 105 of his yards have come from 6 carries.

Also, when doing my stats last night, I wasn't even factoring in the rushes for losses of yardage.

2 rushes of -4 yards
2 rushes of -3 yards
2 rushes of -2 yards
3 rushes of -1 yards
5 rushes of no gain
9 rushes of 1 yard
9 rushes of 2 yards
8 rushes of 3 yards
6 rushes of 4 yards
3 rushes of 5 yards

That's 49 of his 63 rushes this year. 77% of his rushes can be summed up with these stats. I mean, come on now. I personally like my RBs to do a lot better than this when given the ball. I'm fine with a 4ypc average, which he's currently not averaging, but he's gotta get better at making things happen when he gets the ball.
