But why put Cordell on the 40 man roster? That really doesn't make sense if you already have a couple guys that can cover OF and 2B already on the roster

The only reason I thought they might is because they pulled him from the game today. That makes me think they are at least considering it. That doesn't mean they will though.

Does he provide elite defense though? He's -10 DRS over his career in the OF overall and -6 in CF

I have not checked stats but Stubbs sure. Passes the eye test in CF. looked very good defensively last year. Arm is not elite but above avg. he has good reads, elite speed and can climb the wall. I do not see why Banny has him move over to LF for Desmond I still think Desmond is a rental unless we move some money

The numbers don't bear it out though, he's pretty mediocre out there, that's the problem with Stubbs, passes the eye test but without the results

Joey does provide a fifth OF possibility since Stubbs is hurt. Maybe they brought him up to keep from making another 40 man move which they would have had to do with Cordell.
