No, I don't think they would DFA Hoying. Why did you think that?
Simply stating that to show why it doesn't make sense to bring up Cordell

Tepid was referencing that he could be the one to replace Choo/Stubbs. Since Stubbs isn't officially on the DL yet -- no move has been made.
My guess? (now that Hoying is up) --- Profar comes up to replace Stubbs (but play 2B while Odor is suspended)...and Cordell will be promoted to AAA.
I still don't understand, but that's okay. lolSimply stating that to show why it doesn't make sense to bring up Cordell
And the doctor may never find a knee. Sad, he wants to play in 2017 but I wouldn't have him as a DH.

I think they are willing to let it play out. I also think Josh will play out first if not already. Really don't see him in our future. Do wish him well but don't expect him to fit any longerHe cost so little, can't imagine the team not letting the "Josh hand" play itself out.
If push-comes-to-shove next season on the 40 man and Hamilton shows little chance of being able to help, then it would be reasonable to expect the Rangers to make a move.
Glad to see him get his shot. Have not really watched him but heard he has a hard time with the curve. Sounds like he progressed this year. Also head if not rostered he becomes a minor league FA. So this makes sense.
Will be interesting to see who is DFAd unless a someone goes to 60 day. No one in mind there.
Bennie- I know you have been following him closely. Hope he does us all well
I've been hoping Hoying can get a shot for a couple years now
Probably was more in favor of him getting a shot over Stubbs actually, seem to be pretty similar players actually
I just thought they might have pulled Cordell to have him ready in case they DLed Stubbs. To replace Stubbs on the 25 man.I thought you were talking about them bringing up Cordell, I misunderstood what you were saying, though it was pretty ambiguous about what the point you were trying to make in regards to Cordell
Moving on

I wondered back 2 years ago why they didn't bring him up when rosters expanded in Sept. That was always a mystery to me.I've been hoping Hoying can get a shot for a couple years now

Maybe, but not necessarily. I recall they were going to go with one less reliever when that time came, but who knows really. They may need the Stubbs replacement a few days before Odor's replacement is needed. Just a guess at this point.Wouldn't that be Profar?
My impression was Hoying was a good FB hitter by numbers. Very versatile. Seemed to be always overlooked. But Stubbs is an elite defender. Stubbs is no guarantee going forward
