i find it amusing how quickly NON-Lakers fans are to split hairs. try this argument with Celtics fans and watch the results...

It has nothing to do with any team, and nobody is saying that every championship doesn't count the same.

With that being said, championships were much easier to win decades ago because of several variants.

Celtic fans would HAVE to agree simply based on the fact that they won 11 during the 50s and 60's, and only 1 in the last 30 years, and we all know what went down for that to be accomplished.

Saying 16 is still 16, does nothing to counter what I said, which is that modern day championships are much harder to win then championships from decades ago.

Titles in the 40's through the 70's were definitely easier. Far fewer teams and many top athletes who may have played basketball at the time were drawn to other sports because basketball was a niche sport.

From the 80's through today, I think all titles are fairly equal.

Since 1980, the Lakers have 10 titles. The next in line are Chicago (6), San Antonio (5), and the Heat and Pistons (3). That's still pretty damn impressive.
