"King James" is confident he'll be NBA royalty by the time he's ready to leave the game.

"I'm going to be one of the top four that's ever played this game, for sure," LeBron James said in an interview that will air on NBA TV on Monday. "And if they don't want me to have one of those top four spots, they'd better find another spot on that mountain. Somebody's gotta get bumped, but that's not for me to decide. That's for the architects."

James, who has previously talked about being one of the greats of all time, was responding to a question during the interview when asked to name his personal Mount Rushmore, the four greatest players of all time.

James' first three selections which he called the "easy three," were Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. He deliberated before taking Oscar Robertson as his fourth choice.
As for who is fifth, the 29-year-old James already has built quite the case.

James' growing list of accomplishments include two straight NBA championships, two Finals MVP awards, four MVP awards, seven All NBA First-Team selections, five times on the NBA All Defensive Team and he's on his way to his 10th All-Star Game.

He's practically already there. He's the face of the league, has 4 MVPs, 2 rings, 10X all star, etc...

Barring any kind of serious injury, he's likely right.

Doubt many would disagree.

And thanks for including the fact that he was responding to a direct question about who belongs in the top 4, instead of making it appear like he brought it up out of nowhere because of his love for himself like so many others will undoubtedly do in the coming days.

Oh FOR FUCKS SAKE LEBRON WHAT EVER YOUR STUPID FUCKING MIDDLE NAME IS SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!

Ahghhghh so frustrating, just shut the fuck up about that shit, he sounds dumber than Magic counting rings. He needs to take more after Kareem and less after MJ and Magic. When Kareem is asked about this shit he says something to the effect of "that it is up to the people in the bars to fight over". And LOL at his top 4, I mean I have him probably in the top 5 or 6 as of right now but I am the dude in the bar, so shut the fuck up LBJ.

I do have LBJ probably tied with Bird and Magic, maybe a little ahead, but quite behind MJ and miles behind Kareem and decades behind Russell.

The dude's won NBA MVP 4 times, he already would be NBA Royalty if he never played a minute again....and that doesn't count the fact that he's won 2 titles and may win another....

But if he never played a minute again, he'd retire a great....and coupled with the fact he's basically been the best player in the league since 2006ish.

Lebron has the chance to go down not only as NBA royalty but as the greatest to play...and I hate hte guy, and I loved and watched MJ...but nobody has that set of size, speed, athleticism, vision/court awareness....MJ might have been a more fierce competitor, but Lebron may be more naturally gifted. I'm not saying Lebron is better than Michael, but he could go down that way and there's a valid argument....

I have to agree with Leflop on this one (no doubt) his right, he will be among the NBA' all time greatest floppers.

Congrats. :laugh3:

No doubt he is the most humble player to have ever played the game...

His modesty is so revealing...

One of the greats? Yes. Top 4? Maybe, but that's certainly debatable....however you guys know my stance if he goes to a 3rd team in his prime

And of course the haters will bitch about someone believing in themselves just because it's LBJ. I'm sure none of you guys believe in yourself or your abilities.

He's not being honest until/unless he goes out and proves he can really win the thing, dude. There, I spelled it out for you.

I don't tell the media that I could win something that I am not going to participate in. Do you? Is that normal practice in Miami?
