Trojan, I stated that the org is aligned. I dont think my opinion that I would run Brad out of town contradicts that. I am quite sure the Celts management is not worrying about my potential reaction!

Lebron James would be more than welcome in Celtic green. Unfortunately, it won't happen as long as Rajon Rondo is in Boston. This is a throwaway thread. Word.

The organization can be aligned all that they want. But if your GM doesn't make the right picks/trades and the coach can't coach, it doesn't matter!! Ainge hasn't shown himself to be a very good GM and/or evaluator of talent!! McHale is more responsible for the C's latest title than Ainge is.

As for Stevens, he may end up being a great coach, or he may end up being another Pitino!!

Trojan, I think Danny has done a good job on talent evaluation. I do agree Melo was a bust. But he has picked up many draft picks, even drafting low first round that are still playing, and Rondo is one. For sure, he has not tossed away picks, overpaid players, played musical chairs with his coaches or let a player manage him. Not perfect, but a huge step ahead of most GM's. You see my point right?

Not really!! In the time that Ainge has been the C's GM, the organization that you claim has squandered picks, overpaid players and allowed a player to manage them has won 5 titles to the C's 1!!

During just about every season, C's fans are calling for Ainge's head and then every off-season he's the greatest GM in history and putting together a championship team!! If not for McHale's gift, he's probably fired 5 or 6 years ago.

No offense, but I'll take what the Lakers have done over that time over what the C's have done!! Also, whether you want to believe it or not, the Lakers are no worse off than the C's. They are set to have a ton of money come off the books which will allow them to re-build just as quickly if not quicker than the C's.

Just like the C's though, we'll have to wait and see what they do with it!!

McHale's gift??? LOL

Fuckin pussy. You could also just as easily say that Ray Allen was Bennett's gift to help the Sonics tank their final season and help propelling their move to a new city.

Which team is it that has won 5 titles since 2003 when Ainge took over as GM?

Make that 3-1!! Thought he took over earlier!!

3-1 what? The Lakers have 2 title and the celtics 1 since then. Twice as many, but not such a big difference.

Dude, you sound like a complete Lakers diva by giving McHale (T'Wolves GM at the time) all the credit for Boston's 2008 title.

I, however, was merely pointing out that Seattle was in firesale mode as well when they traded Ray Allen to the Celtics that same year. Did McHale have power over two different franchises? Or was that Clayton Bennett on the Seattle side looking to set up for his team's move?

trojanfan, you do realize that there are other teams in the league besides the Lakers, Celtics, and Heat, right???

Trojan, Trojan your getting carried away, and you kind of stuck your foot in your mouth. Lakers have one just two titles since Mitch took over. He traded away Shaq who went on to win another title....huh? It took him 6 years to win his first title. Gasol was his catylyst and he was obtained by trading away picks and some hacks. The trade was so bad that many NBA people called the Grizzlies the biggest fools in history of NBA trades. Add to all of this that he has had a salary window almost twice other teams. Mitch has watched two superstar centers leave, and Mitch benefited from the most lopsided deal of the decade.

You need to gain somee perspective my friend and look outside in

West quit before the Lakers 3-peated. Mitch was GM for at least one of those titles, although the foundation of the team had already been cemented by Jerry.

He traded away Shaq who went on to win another title....huh?

Shaq wanted a $30 million a year extension. Dr. Buss wasn't going to pay him that. Mitch had no choice but to trade him away.

It took him 6 years to win his first title. Gasol was his catylyst and he was obtained by trading away picks and some hacks. The trade was so bad that many NBA people called the Grizzlies the biggest fools in history of NBA trades.

Turned out it wasn't so lopsided of a trade. I guess that Memphis GM had a bit more foresight than those NBA people.

Enjoy Danny Boy's draft picks. Draft picks always work out right?

They have not really worked out for LA since 2003 except Bynum. But when West was the man, and others ...............they got Kobe, Magic, Worthy, AC Green, Vlade, Derek Fisher, Van Excel in the draft, amazing success. Actually, the Lakers have had very good luck building their championships through the draft better than most, but for some reason since 2003 they are horrible at it. Hmmmm I wonder why?

The Celtics got Garnett because McHale was the T-Wolves GM at the time and he gave him to the C's for nothing!! As for there being other teams in the NBA besides the Lakers, Celtics and Heat....you're right, but no one (including you) talks about them very much!!

Now go back to your cage before Sman finds out that your out without permission!!

I'm getting carried away? Seriously?!? You really have some serious revisionist history in your post!! First of all, Shaq being traded away was Dr. Buss not Mitch. Dr. Buss made that call because of Shaq's disrespect towards Dr. Buss and the organization as well as his laziness in the off-season!! He also was no longer worth the money that he was demanding!!

Second, the Gasol trade included the Lakers rights to Marc Gasol!! How do you think Memphis is feeling about that trade right about now? The Lakers got 2 titles as a result and the Grizzlies have had more playoff success than they've had in their history!! Seems like the deal worked well for both teams!! Not quite so lopsided is it?

You want to talk lopsided!! How has the Garnett trade worked out for the T-Wolves?

Face it, Ainge is nothing special as a GM and the only reason that he even still has a job is because McHale gifted him Garnett in what was the real "most lopsided deal of the decade"!!

The Celtics once again had a horrible lottery that year. But they turned Jeff Green into Ray Allen, and that started the landslide. They Had to give up Al Jefferson and two first rounders. They had some young talent and they had picks to give, sort of like the position they are in now

To be fair......KG had the final say because he had a no movement clause in his contract.

He would have been a FA at the end of the season so whatever McHale could get out of him (after KG agreed to the trade) was a +

To quote Super Troopers - "I'll believe that when me shit turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet"

Quote whoever you want to, I'll stick with what I said.

Danny Ainge would not want the services of an egomaniac like LeBron James.
