2.4M over the cap and still have Brown and Hyman to sign. They will get Horton and Lupul LTIR cap relief but they have to move someone before the season, or am i mistaken?

Lots of talk that they will try to move JVR for a defenseman, sbb.

So long Patty. Thanks for everything. Looking forward to seeing your jersey hang in the rafters.

You could argue that the Leafs have a pretty good chance to win the Stanley Cup over the next two years before they will have to open the purse strings to pay their young stars. That said, I don't think Marleau can be that much of a difference maker, but we'll see.

I think Kenny (not our Kenny) agrees with you, jstew.

I dislike this.

But my team still has Matthews, Nylander and Marner so they're probably better than yours.

Why pay Marleau so much when Marcus Johansen was available for peanuts?

The NHL is crazy town right now.

I think this will work out fine, year 3 is the only one that could be problematic but these are the deals that sunk the Devils toward the end of Lou's tenure. He loves his vets.

The contract is heavily skewed to the front end. Cash in year 3 is quite low, so it's easy to walk away from just as the young'uns will be due for raises.
