No freakin way is he worth 20+ million a year. You gotta play more than 3/4 of the games to earn that. He should count himself lucky to get 15 million a yr guaranteed.

Still doesn't mean back the truck up to him, Fielder on board or not, Hamilton is still a player who's been healthy for ONE season in his entire CAREER

Years, opt outs and incentives have to be right, only way it makes sense to sign Hamilton, and forget the 7 years he wants

Not signing Fielder doesn't mean they will go crazy with Hamilton just that they can now give it their full attention.

Simpson suggested the Rangers would rather re-sign Hamilton, who is looking for a five-year deal in excess of $100 million. At least Simpson would rather re-sign Hamilton. There are alternate views within the Rangers organization suggesting that Fielder, being younger and possibly more durable, is the better long-term fit in Texas.

What a joke! Cabrera is by far the better 'fielder' than Fielder ... so making Miguel Cabrera an MVP finalist move back to 3b or LF to make room for Cecil Fielder's fat son is a total joke.

Yea ... fat boy can play 1b for the next nine years ... even though his dad who was far more athletic was out of the game by age 34 ... princie will be around until he's 36 with this contract. Wonder how fat he will be then?

Can just hear Cabrera next time he gets pulled over by Florida highway patrol ... "Don't you know who I am?" ... and the cop saying ... "Yea you are the guy who got replaced by "Fat Albert" ... or The Fat Prince ... whatever. Cabrera has to be wondering ... What the Heck!

Sure ... Fielder may be an upgrade from VMart ... but not good enough to bump Cabrera to DH. That is nuts.

Would love having Cabrera at TEX 1b ... would mean TEX might move Cruz and do something else in RF with Hamilton, Beltre, Cabrera as 3-4-5 ... that would be awesome.

I doubt any move is made concerning Cabrera til next season when VMart is ready to come back and it might be VMart that gets moved to someone that needs a DH with Tigers eating a chunk of his contract, as he's probably the least valuable of the bunch

but at that price? glad we stayed out of it

not sure what the tigers are thinking but i hope it doesnt work out for the rangers sake
